Why are we not all over this guy, Danny Watkins?

He's not that good????

Whatsoever.

Classic case of why after a couple of years in the league you really must throw out a player's draft position and just go by what they really are at the NFL level.
That is an honest evaluation.

Remember when the Pats signed Isaiah Stanback and lots of CZ members were scared that he'd turn into a monster since the Almighty Patriots signed him? I do.

The depleted Pats being interested in him means absolutely nothing. He was a scrub in Philly and will likely always be a scrub.

IIRC, the Cowboys had a second round grade on him when he came out. Not that it has any bearing on this. just an interesting tidbit.

Being that he played in our division, you have to assume we know all there is to know about him. The fact that we're apparently not pursuing him speaks volumes.

Not to me.

I think there's a lot of talent around this league, specifically offensive line talent, that we don't seem to pursue.

I seem to recall the same chorus about a Brian Waters being 'done' two years ago.

Right before he went to a Pro Bowl and Super Bowl with the Patriots.

at this point, unless Waters or Moore (the guard, not the d-back) decide they want to play, then don't sign anyone until after we beat the giants...why guarantee anything for the 53rd player on the roster at this point in camp?

I have been watching pre-season games with an eye for offense linemen, specifically guards the Cowboys could pick up. I did not see this guy make one mistake or get beat once. He moves well and I might even say he looks quick. If the Cowboys don’t take a hard look at him I am very concerned about the front office and scouts.

Always, always looking for CBs. Esp the ones who can cover and tackle. :)

Agreed. Remember 2011 when they opened with just three corners at the Jets. I believe it was Scandrick who got dinged up and they ended up playing Danny McCray at corner in the 4th. That's a nightmare I don't think anyone involved with this team wants to re-live.

I remember since you stirred it up....vaguely. You've got a good memory. Pass rushers, playmakers, CBs and tackles.
