Back when the kickoff was pushed to the 35 yard line I told everyone he was assured a job. Stop thinking like fans, and think like a coach for a minute.

Now listen to Jason Garrett at the 6:15 mark and think about what he is saying. Please.

Hint...field position battle.

Oh, and at the 1:45 mark Jason Garrett says he didn't know about the record for Murray. So much for some phone call telling him to let him get it.

People choose to believe that they want. I'm no fan of keeping 2 kickers but that is Garrett call. Because I don't agree with his call does not mean I have less faith in him to get the job done.

This is noteworthy because usually a head coach would come out and bury his GM in the media.

I hate keeping 2 Kickers. No one hates it more than me.

Yet as soon as the rule was announced I predicted we would.

Why?

We did.

It is entirely about field position in the NFL. Why that is so hard for fans to accept is beyond me.

You also have no proof it's Garrett's call.

You hope it's his call. I do too.

I still think keeping 2 kickers is a smart move. How many close games do the Cowboys play? If something happens to Bailey, it is nice having another kicker. I think it is more important to have insurance at a scoring position than a 9th OL, LB or DB.

He is the HC and Jerry has said no player on the would be on the team that Garrett did not want. I think that is the case if you feel other wise prove it. What was stated publicly with Garrett standing next to him when he said it so I have no reason to think otherwise.

I think it is pretty cheap though to rag on Jerry when you don't get your way and it is Garrett call when you like it

I understand his rational I would just say Bailey has done a good job on kickoffs and has not created bad field position. I am willing to accept Garretts view since in the end it is his job on the line not mine

and you have no proof it's not - so you speculate to your own preference.

I don't have proof. Which is why I never said it wasn't Garrett's call.

I was responding to a fan who must know it was his call since he clearly stated it was. What he actually meant is he hopes it was his call.

I have been trying to say this.

Bailey just starting getting Decent on kickoffs. Now factor in the later part of our schedule, when we might have to face teams with poor weather conditions...a dangerous returner, and especially all this in the playoffs. Bailey can barely kick it 1 yard deep.

Factor some wind, cold *** weather, rain, snow ect.....he will have a poor game kicking off...This is where David B comes in...and he's an extra tackler on the field

does it really matter what i or anyone says?

you're still gonna hate jones and take every opportunity to see him in the worst light. proven.

so again, would it matter to try and respond when you're only gonna twist it up to your own preference?

It is hard to accept because we are the only team that does this 2 kicker thing.

I know it was his call to let go of choice.

Look at his face after the Choice fumble. I remember seeing him, and i never saw him so pissed or disgusted.

Are you saying no other team would if they had a chance at a Buehler?

I reject that.

Not buying the fact that Buehler gives us that much more field position. Especially as Bailey has shown to be working on it. Give me 3 points over 15 yards of field position any day, especially with this defense.

No other team in the league would sign Buehler if we cut him right now. I guarantee you that.

I agree that is pretty much my feeling on this. Had Bailey been giving up long returns I may feel different. One thing I will say though there are many points of view and because I disagree with this does not make my view the only one or even the correct one.

Fine, I accept that. My complaint is, if you're chewing up a roster spot for the sole purpose of a kick-off specialist, then 100% of kickoffs should be a touchback. No directional kicking or any of that crap. Put every single one out of the end-zone, and don't let a single kick-returner touch the ball. Short of that, it's a wasted roster spot.
