Why can Miami win and we cant

This is classic. Why can Miami win and we can't....yet Miami is 7-6 and we are 8-5. What are you talking about? They just won a squeeker over jacksonville and we just lost a squeeker to a FAR better San Diego team. Again what ARE you talking about?

I like how they are building their team (and jacksonville too, btw) and I for sure would have drafted a couple of the guys that they took last year over some of our picks, but right now they are still not very good.

To think we also had Sean Payton as well! What could he have done with this team?

They've used it sparingly the last few games, whereas before they were running it constantly. They put the ball in Henne's hands and he's responded.
They found something in Henne. He has a nice future ahead of him. I'm not sure getting to the playoffs and getting stomped was worth keeping in on the bench last season. It just delayed his development by a year...they would have a better record now possibly. But there are good arguments both ways on that one.

Overall, I like how they're building that team.

LOL. You know people have been waiting to run this out here all year. Only problem is, the Fins wouldn't cooperate by, you know, winning.

But for one, they understand the importance of running the ball, which most around here and our OC seem to think is an anachronism.

I'd still like to know how many here were calling for Tony to be the HC when the job was open. I don't recall any, to be honest, who were saying we should give him the shot.

Now there are posts like this that spring up from time to time and always a few people who say we should have hired him, we are rueing the day, blah, blah, blah, as if they actually knew, and believed, this guy would do anything as an HC.

It's kind of like all the people who were suddenly Tomlin fans after last season. No one even knew his name when he took that job and the ones who were, until this season of course, loving everything about him were probably people laughing at Pittsburgh.

It's wonderful to have 20/20 hindsight for everything.

Ya know, it's a shame Jones hired Parcells as the head coach and not the GM...he brought in very good coaches, as he always does...and he changed the thinking in the organization.

Sadly, for us, he was well past his prime as a coach.

Unfortunately, BP made us good enough to allow Jerry to think that he could puppet master the team again.

They seem to adapt and gameplan fairly well with fairly average personnel.

I have watched every game of both teams this season, and there is only one explanation.

Keep in mind Miami has lost their starting QB, their starting RB (who is phenomenal), a few offensive linemen, and their #1 CB. They are starting two ROOKIES at corner, and sometimes it shows. Their offensive coordinator (Henning) calls some of the most inexplicable plays at the most inexplicable times, but they continue winning.

That said, if we were to meet Miami, we would trounce them because we are a far better team and we could stop their rushing attack no problem. But there is a reason we continue to be a "pretty good" team, and we can never quite get over that hump. Someone needs to kick our team in the *** over that hump.

Only thing I see in those pics are TWO coaches that aren't going win anything in the nfl.

When Tony Sparano was here, everybody hated him as a coordinator and wanted him canned.

They made the playoffs last year and are in the midst of another December march. They have Chad Henne and Chad Pennigton as QB's. Their running backs are good. Their recievers are weak. Their defense doesnt have any big names with the exception of Taylor and Porter, who are over the hill, but they still manage to fight you every week. On paper we have twice the talent as they do. They dont have a Demarcus Ware. Tony Romo is twice the QB of anyone they have and with a healthy Ronnie Brown I call our rb's a draw. Miles Austin and Roy Williams just kills Best, Ginn and Cammerio. Not only this but they play in the AFC division which is brutal like ours. Its coaching. Can anyone else come up with another reason?

Because football is played on the field and not on paper. When it comes down to it heart and the desire to win trumps all. So sick of hearing about how talented this team is.

Who knows. They wear teal?

I'm thinking of ordering a blue jersey with "December" on the nameplate. Two jinxes in one!

Sadly, for us, he was well past his prime as a coach.

Worse, it was obvious Bill wanted a GM spot after 2006. He still could have bumped him to that spot even after he flamed out as a coach, and we'd have Sparano here as HC.

He missed twice.

Let's see how great sparano looks when chris Johnson is running all over his defense, then the following week Andre Johnson will torch that secondary like he usually does. You sparano lovers will be silent then.

Miami hasnt won squat.....

Even our beloved Norv hasnt won squat...

Singletary hasnt won squat....

etc......

I wonder sometimes....is success built on winning Dec games and a lousy playoff game here and there?

If by some way the Cowboys win a few the next few weeks...get in the playoffs and get on a roll.....should we just sign Wade to a 10 yer contract?

Sure coaching can be better......we all know that......but lets not stop there......Players have to be accountable.....they have to make plays.

The last few weeks ....the othe team made plays.....maybe just a few....but it won the game for them. We need our core players to step up and make plays....Romo has done his part so far IMHO.......but the rest? Look at that OL....if not for the shotgun draw.....they are useless in the running game....

As they conviently were most of the season.

Lousaka Polite is the BEST fullback in the NFL.

Some of us were crucified over "wanting" Norv to be the guy here, but to say he hasnt won squat isnt accurate either. He's won postseason games since he went to San Diego and got a really beat up team almost into a Super Bowl two yrs ago, then won another postseason game last yr. He's done a great job there.

Miami made the playoffs last year and we didn't. Ill give you Buffalo but we would struggle against the Jets. All Im saying talent wise they are probably in the bottom 10 and they're still in the mix and made playoffs last year.
