Why can't Dallas get their stories straight and is JG losing the team?

It's worring me that with each game JG is losing complete control of this squad. I'm just not sure if it's JJ setting him up for failure or if it's his doing and the team is tired of the same ole same ole. Part of that feeling comes from all of the misinfo coming down and who is really responsible for the way the news hits the streets. Garrett has been flat out wrong or is lying about his assessment of key injuries since TC. Ratliff was close to returning all camp and the news was even that he was a wk 1 hopeful. We see what happened with that. But why was he so off and was it coming from top or just poor optimism? Ware even spewed the company hope in ratliffs return! same story with Livings, Johnson and Spencer. I can't believe someone as smart as him just didn't or hasn't pulled a belichick!

Now we have Austin's hammy going from not serious to potentially missing two straight games? Why would he keep putting himself in a position to seem so dishonest or was he been forced lines to sale JJ hope?

Also Kiffin with the weirdest excuse for benching a player only to find out it could be a foot injury. Another example of signals being crossed with the message and reality. I'm starting to believe Carter and Mo are more seriously injured than what we're being told. Did Mo really lose his job due to injury or confidence? I know we've gotten a couple different versions and reasons.

Again is JJ forcing JG to preach the company hope or is he doing it to himself? Either way, there are too many mixed messages that are coming from the locker room from Exec to coaches to players to asst coaches to make me feel like this is a cohesive team!

Just because the info may be misleading to the media/fans, it does not mean that the team is not internally on the same page.

I don't see this as a sign he's losing the team. They seem to play hard for him

This is the problem with fans and the media. They get their feeling hurt cause the team doesn't tell the the truth about injuries. Does it really matter? If he said austin hammy was bad and was gonna miss 2 games would it had changed anything except the fact that we knew last week instead of this week? Smh

Not when Ratliff himself disputes whats being reported or when Kiff blames heat for a benching? But why let the fanbase believe the misinfo??

Problem: losing OC duties
Problem: the person deciding this was the case
Problem: players know this
Problem: players look at this as not being in charge
Problem: players half arse their assignments

Only thing that needs to happen is this team going out this weekend and beating Denver. If Carter starts or does not start who care bottom line when they call your number and you are in the game make plays if not then someone else will be called on same with Claiborne. Last year what happen? Free struggled and was forced into splitting snaps that is no longer the case as Free has now taken the starting job if Carter and Claiborne want to get the starters job back then go out and take it.

Nice but Spence, Livings, Rat and Johnson were all close returnee from first reports and all of them are all done or reportedly coming off long term pup. It would have been nice to have them within two weeks but that hasn't/won't happen. But way to focus on 1 situation instead of the totality of it.

Bill Belichek and Greg Popovich must not have control of their teams because they give some of the most confusing and misleading injury statements in pro sports.

When do they ever give their fanbase optimism that a player has a short term injury when in reality its a potential season-ending one and continue to sale it weeks after week?

2-2 Folks. First place.

Sheesh. I'm glad Garrett and the players don't quit this easy.

I don't think anybody that still visits these boards every day has quit being a fan. Some has wised up and understood the reality that this team is still run like a three ring circus with little hope of improvement. As for the team, I don't think they can quit when they haven't got started .

Two different coaching staffs at the moment--three if you count Jerry and Stephen.

Dallas cannot get their stories straight because Jerra drinks and the team is at 2-2, so I don't see the JG loss.

Is this a trick question?!

And if we somehow manage to pull of a home W vs Denver (it is doable), we are sitting pretty at 3-2 and the wind at our back.

I quit believing anything Garrett said a long time ago. He chooses his words very carefully and crafty like a lawyer. Fortunately, it doesn't really matter much what he says anymore. You can get away with buzzword press conferences and that type of garbage only for so long. It is put up or shut up time for him. Win or hit the road. No one is even listening to his pressers anymore. And no one cares about injuries forecasts. No one cares who is out. Find a way to win with whoever is out there or be gone.

When you're willing to jump at shadows, eventually your legs are going to get tired. I think the rest of us are doing ok over here. This thread is literally the first time I've even considered whether or not Garrett might lose the team, and the answer I came to almost immediately is 'nope.'

When I see posts like this, I chalk most of it up to estimating return times for soft tissue injuries is difficult. Then I think that we also consider ourselves fortunate to have a more even distribution of talent on the roster this year. It's a lot easier to bench a Carter or sit an Allen or an Austin for performance or health when you like your other options.
