Why can't "they" just let the Cowboys be?

I caught some of the Fox postgame show, and right on cue Strahan went into full Giants mode: “Who cares if they won? I don’t. I only care about the playoffs and how they’ll collapse if they get there.”

Now ESPN is running with: “Are the Cowboys a playoff team?”

Here’s the thing—I don’t see this kind of coverage with any other team. Why is it always different with the Cowboys?

This team came into the season with low expectations, and I don’t think that’s really changed. But can’t they just cover Dallas the same way they cover everyone else?

Criticize? Fine.
Praise? Fine.
Cover? Absolutely.

But why does it always have to swing to extremes—either complete dismissal or overhype?

For a franchise that hasn’t made a championship game in 30 years, the nonstop “all or nothing” narrative just doesn’t make much sense.

Well, you know the saying, right? You either love them or hate them.

What I don't understand is, why does it bother you?

Exactly. Why would it bother a Cowboys fan because of how much the Cowboys are talked about compared to everyone else? The Cowboys have been America's Team and the talk of the town since the 70s, so this should be normal. The minute they stop talking about our Cowboys is the day we should be concerned.

I thought he was talking about the haters on the zone....welcome back. We missed you!

.....On Fox yesterday, Strahan tried dissing Dallas win yesterday with we know how seasons ends, yada yada.

Bradshaw came to Dallas defense, blatantly called out Strahan, "Your just bitter towards Dallas" ... lol.

His eye's lit up, everyone cracked up. Terry wasn't joking. Strahan tried making light of it.

I guess ,the stellar record ( recent) of the cowboys i what caused this talks, if they have been to couple of championship games and a SB in 30 years, these talks will not arise.

So does Strahan say the Bills also collapse? How about the Lions? We hear EVERY SEASON how the Cowboys havent won a SB since 1995..... but you know what we dont hear? The Bears havent won a SB since 1985. We dont hear how the Niners havent won since 1994. We dont hear how the Lions havent won a SB since the Roman Empire.

And Ill say in here what I say to everyone. You know why we dont hear that about the other teams>? Because NOBODY CARES. EVERYBODY cares about what the Cowboys are doing. Win or lose, people care, and that is why you see this crap every season, from every NFL/Sports show on TV.

To answer your questions above the answer is simple... Jerry LOVES the attention already that people are talking about his team. Doesn't matter what the subject is because Jerry loves his soap opera team...

Easy way to ignore it is don't watch it ;)

I get so tired of that old and exhausting take. Jerry's team is talked about all year long, whether they are good or bad. Jerry doesnt need to get excited, if he changed the toilet paper at AT&T it would be the leading story the next day on the heard.

Cowboys are a polarizing team with allot of fans, Though many of the fans are Boomers and Generation X. Cowboys fandom is going through the same thing MLB is. The fandom is getting older. Millennials were too young when the Cowboys were good. Gen Z weren’t even born during the glory days. Time will tell how long the Cowboys all day everyday coverage will last.

I believe that is the way Jerry has designed his team, and wants people to talk about the cowboys. In that sense, Jerry asked for it and Jerry got it. Perhaps they did the same thing when Landry was the coach, but I don't remember that being the case other than that the team was expected to be good.

the NFL of today is not the nfl of the 1970s. The salary cap has made parity the way of the world today. Did you watch the Pats beat the Bills last night? How about the 0-3 Giants beat the 3-0 chargers last week? We have cable today with the NFL network that covers teams, and specifically the cowboys 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That was NOT the case in the 70s.

You blame this all on Jerry. So please tell me exactly what Jerry does to make his team covered like this? Why wouldnt the Bengals do the same?
