Going all the way back to 1997 we usually had a solid if unspectacular defense under Campo, but our offense struggled to score points. Hence we would lose many games by the scores of 13-10 or 16-13. This prompted JJ to trade two 1st round picks for Joey Galloway to no avail.
Now it looks like we can score some points for the first time in years and our defense is starting to look like the early 80's Chargers. The frustrating thing is that this is where we spent all our first picks in the draft since 1997. We should be a dominating defense by now with or without Zimmer as DC.
Right now I would prefer Campo's defenses to this 3-4.
