Texas Stadium, Jerry Jones, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Tony Dorsett, Roger Staubach, Randy White, Clint Longley, Danny White, Drew Pearson, Jimmy Johnson, 52 losses, 2 ties, 2064 points, Bill Parcells, Hollywood Henderson, Flex defense, America's Team (HA!), numbers on their pants, Don Meredith, Calvin Hill, Norv Turner, Hershel Walker, Deion Sanders...............and I could go on and on and on.
sounds like a boys fan in the bizarro world! He knows more about our team then some boys fans. Amazing!

DC-Fan said:For me, I believe its becouse how dominating they have been in the division. After you have been beat like rented mules for so many years, it makes you hate them. If the records were reversed, Dallas would hate Washington as much as they hate Philly.

Most Cowboys fans that I meet have no knowledge of history of pride. They are just fans of the team with no real substance of reasoning behind it (cant even tell you the starting RBs or years they won SBs, even I know that stuff). And if the Cowboys are doing bad you dont hear a peep from them all year. If they are winning they are the loudest in the room and still have no working knowledge of their "alleged" favorite team.

SoTex said:I think this is the case for fans of all teams. A large majority don't know much about their teams. Kind of sad.
My memory is kind of murky, but as a child I seem to recall the Staubach game where the Commanders knocked him out the game and then Clint Stoener (you'll please forgive the spelling) took over and beat the Skins. I'd NEVER seen my Dad so disgusted.
Little did I know, but Cowboy antibodies were forming in my blood...
Hostile said:I can't help but love this response.
When was it that Staubach gave way to Stoerner? Sort of trumps the two comments in this thread about Cowboys fans not knowing history.
Clint Longley people.
HeavyHitta31 said:Didnt Longley punch Staubach after the Commander Thanksgiving game cause he thought he should start and then Dallas released him? That was before my time so I dont know if its true or not.
CowboysHater said:Well, unfortunately, most of them don't know their own team history (Cowboys fans, that is). And it's more predominant with Cowboys fans because they have the largest bandwagon of any team. Bangwagoners generally know almost nothing about the team they support, but so many of them go right to the Cowboys in this area, just to piss everyone off.
