I was listening to the Fan the other day, and Jay Novacek mentioned the Cowboys were considering the two TE set under OC Norv Turner. Why is everyone giving credit to Belicek and the Patriots?

Huh? So teams are supposed to say they're moving to a two TE offense like the 90's Cowboys thought about doing?

No what I'm saying is many people are giving credit to NE for this latest trend when it's been used before in the NFL in the early 70's. After listening to Novacek the thought just came to mind.

They put up a lot more points on the board than a lot of those teams. They ran a lot of 2 TE sets here with Dan Campbell and Jason Witten in 2003 with Quincy at the helm. The only way to win with Quincy was to limit the amount of players running routes and max protect.

Because they currently run it and run it well. It's an immediately recognizable reference, plus NE's offense and Peyton Manning are Jerry's buzz words for this year like "Window Closing" was last year.

Garrett has talked about 2 TE sets since he's been OC.

Talked about all the mismatches they'd create.

Problem is Martellus Bennett was the guy they drafted to be Wittens Robin.

If Eifert becomes big time I am going to be sick. They had the option of drafting the undisputed top TE. Eifert was projected to be a top 10 pick by some.

Give it a rest, lets deal with realities! We need to work on being successful with the people we drafted. Every team has a could have, would have and should have players every year. Think of all the teams that passed up on Jason Witten, Demarcus Ware to Dez Bryant, Tony Hill, Drew Pearson, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, the Manster, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Moose Johnston, we can go on and on and on...

Think instead how good you'll feel if Escobar becomes big time. It'll be even sweeter for you since we got him in the second.

If Frederick becomes big time, too, you'll be in absolute heaven.
