We did we only score 20 on Sunday?

1. The game was shorter than most. By ‘short’ I mean there were only 8 cowboys possessions.

If you wonder why it was short consider the tenor of the game. The Giants had a 12-play six-minute drive that featured two 4th down QB sneaks. The ‘drive’ totaled only 24 yards, but ate up time. And some games just don’t have as many time stoppages. Al Michaels marveled aloud at how fast the game flew by.

2. We only got one turnover. In the NFL turnovers usually produce points. We did have just the one.

3. Giants-Cowboys games have been low-scoring affairs the past few years. These teams know each other well and seem to have a defensive answer for what the other team wants to do. Harrison is kryptonite to our up-the-middle run game.

4. In the second and third quarter Dak was stone cold. He couldn’t connect with Thompson, Gallup, Rico, Hurns etc. He was 2-6 in the second quarter and in the third quarter he threw for just 36 and that notable overthrow of Rico.

I don’t see any evidence at all that the coaches “went conservative.” Dak was just missing passes in the middle of the game, especially his down-field throws.

Fortunately DP showed up strong in that huge 4th quarter drive that resulted in a touchdown and sealed the game.

I’ve watched the all 22.

Dak didn’t miss much this week.

Their was a couple plays in the reDzone. The miss to Rico and Beasley came open on a reDzone play as well.

Other then that. Dak didn’t miss much. He took what was there. Just wasn’t a lot there.

160 yards passing and 64 yards of that on one play = 20 points. Dak played a lot better but we are definitely hurting in the passing game, thus No running lanes for Feed Me.

I’ve yet the watch the all-22 so I will defer a little. He sure missed the pass to Rico, which was a 4-point play. His downfield pass to the sidelines was quite close to perfect...and perhaps Gallup could have caught it anyway. But 1-2 feet more inbounds and it’s a catch. I’ll give him credit for trying that and almost completing it. Tough throw to make.

His overall game was decent...just don’t think he was very sharp in the middle of it.

The pass game is terrible but Dak didn’t miss much this week.

I think it’s fair to say he left 7 points off the board when he missed Rico though.

Why are 20 points not enough if it's a win?

Well if u r saying that Dak did not miss much then they are dumbing down the playbook bigtime to just ensure that Dak is a bus driver and nothing more. If that is the case then we are in for a rough season.

Our playbook was dumb down before Dak ever got here.

Our playbook can be judged objectively in this, with two different quarterbacks, one a hobbled veteran, one a rookie...it achieved this:
7th of 32 in yardage...5th in points in 2014
5th of 32 in yardage...5th in points in 2016

The derision of our offensive scheme and play calling is pretty funny. An ongoing joke.

It’s one of the many amusements of this forum.

Patience .

It was an overall big improvement by everyone on offense .

Rome wasn't built in 1 day.

No it wasn’t. But this isn’t day 1 for this group. I think we will have some 28-35 point games this year, and I believe Dak will post a 300+yard game by mid season...but I’m not optimistic that Dak can consistently deliver.

Keep in mind I was a Dak believer and defender. I so much like the guy that I got a little blinded. He’s a top 5 QB when it comes to football character and leader. I think he’s got the toughness and clutch gene in him. I’m just not sure how far that can carry us with his reads and his arm.

There was once a time when winning was just that, winning. Now we analyze how the win happen, why the win happen, instead of enjoying the win. Sports is a funny thing.

Yeah.

In case you missed it...This is a forum where we...you know...chat about the game and stuff. For some of us breaking things down before and after...is part of the enjoyment.

"Dak was just missing passes in the middle of the game, especially his down-field throws."

your right, there were few possessions - a fact not often considered when looking at stats
Jones only punted 4 times

you skipped throw aways, there were about 3 which dodged sacks, another 2 I'd say he was too willing to throw away. I'd say he missed 3
priority for Dak is take care of the ball, he did

Dak threw most completions into tight windows. His touch to Zeke sucked again

A lot WRs played X these 2 games - they may have figured out all of them run good slants which breaks down run Ds,

I think it very interesting they resigned Butler
IMO, no WR has played their way off the field, yet

Yeah.

Seems like someone's trying to get attention, but that's fine by me. The world needs drama queens. Not like their isn't 400 other Dak threads out there.

In two short posts you are sitting with Seattle at 0-2. Maybe it’s time you try to rebuild and put something on the field that competes? Entertains? Contributes?

In case you didn’t notice the topic is ‘why only 20 points on Sunday’. And yes some of us do talk football here.

Got anything to say about Dak's restroom habbits? I'm mildly interested.
