I feel we made a mistake today in not taking the next best defender off the board to help our defense..it's proven facts the past two Super Bowl champs had great defense .. I feel today's pick was a waste in resources .. Why didn't we just pay Murray ? He was doing what we expect in this years pick in Elliot right ?? But Jerry dosent value running backs ??? but you do this tonight . I'm going to trust them because I don't know yet what will pan out .. But I'm kinda of confuse in Dallas thought process ? Here ..

Cause Zeke is better than Murray and Murray is a decade older

Elliot is a lot younger and I'm guessing that they view him as a better talent as well.

He is 7-8 years younger than Murray ... He'll only be 26 when rookie contract expires ... I like the pick, would have been stoked with Ramsey as well.

Because he wasn't worth what he was asking for.

Exactly. He stayed injured and wouldn't play until his contract year. That problem followed him to Philly as well. He gets a little dinged up don't want to practice when other players would .

Because Murray got paid and he shut it down..simple as that. Dude went all out in a contract year, broken hand, etc. if you think he would have played last year with that broke hand after getting paid, you are crazy.

Age and price point. Mind you Dallas did offer him 6 mill a year...So it's not like they didnt try.

Because Zeke is the superior player.

Oh yeah, and he's 8 years younger

Yep.

And I think Dallas realized giving Murray almost 500 carries in a season probably wasn't the best move for the player's career.

Murray didn't run as effectively over the last quarter of the season and thus he wasn't worth as much.

Plus I think the Cowboys viewed him as being somewhat "used-up" after the 2014 season and almost 500 carries.

We didn't pay Murray because we knew that 2015 Murray wasn't going to look anything like 2014 Murray. And that 2017 Murray would be a disaster. And we were right. Yeah, it wasn't a great fit for him in Philly and so on and so forth, but did you watch Murray last year? Do you really want to pay for that?

If Zeke is a superior player, then I fully expect him to rush for at least 1,500 yards and score at least 12 TD's.

It will come down to carries.

I don't think they give him the carries to reach that level. At least not this season.

The Cowboys have good players behind Elliott. Yeah I want to see the pick maximized, but I don't want to see the kid get blown up by a huge number of carries.

Tony Dorsett, who was selected 2nd overall, didn't start the first 4 games of the season.

Emmitt averaged 15 carries a game his rookie season.

I think Elliott will be used in a similar fashion.

Did Murray do that his freshman year?

What is being proposed is that Zeke is a better player than Murray was after 2014. And that's why we didn't pay Murray and drafted Zeke. So by that logic, I expect at least 1,500 yards and 12 TD's. I'm actually cutting him some slack.

So to be better than Murray ........ he has to play better than Murray did his first 3 season in the league combined.

Gotcha.

No.

You have a real faculty for completely missing the point.

He should be somewhere in the proximity of Murray's 2014 season since he's better than Murray. He's behind the best line in football, right?

So 1,500 yards and 12 TD's shouldn't be an issue.

No you are missing the point ....... it took Murray 3 seasons to get those stats when he came in the league.

Is Todd Gurley better than Demarco?

Cause he had 1100 yards and 10 TDs his first year.

Is Emmitt Smith better than Murray?

Cause he had 937 yards and 11 TDs his first year.

Is Adrian Petterson better than Murray?

Cause he had 1341 yards and 12 Tds his first year.

Is Demarco Murray better than Demarco Murray?

Cause he had 897 yards and 2 Tds his first year.

So yea ....... you aint biased or anything are yakuza?
