Why didn't we see more of Choice

It was said it was humid and the Cowboys had already rushed for close to 200 yards of offense. Why didn't Wade spread the rushing load out more to protect our RBs? Why didn't we see more Choice? I though part of the point was to keep Barber more rested as he shown last year that he can't handle the full load. (along with the fact that he tends to fumble when he gets tired)

Barber: 124 yards
Jones: 96 yards
Crayton: 20 yards
Choice: 8 yards

Now our bruising closer is hurt.

Funny thing is, I find Choice is more damaging in the open field than Barber is too. The Cowboys were opening huge holes in the Giants defense. They should have given Choice more chances.

We have a three headed beast. Use it Wade. :bang2:

only 29 carries.. and 29 pass attempts. I think most folks here figured the offense would revolve around the run more. didn't really see it sunday night, hopefully we will in the future.

ALTHOUGH...it does mean keeping guys healthy later in the season by limiting plays so...who knows

I noticed that the Cowboys rushed for every yard on a 82 or 83 yard drive and the next drive it was all passes and ended in a INT. Best I figured Garrett was trying to even out the runs and passes. Personally, I think that is stupid. If they can't stop the run, then by all means, run it down their throat.

Looks like a good balance of run and pass to me. For all the turnovers Dallas was able to get up and down the field an put up 31 points despite not getting any turnovers of their own. Add to that 4 for 4 in the redzone. There is nothing wrong with the offense.

The only complaint I have about the offense is us turning the ball over.

Im loving the playcalling and im loving all the formations we are throwing at teams.

But turnovers are the reason we lost and it hendered our defense as well.

Our offense is producing bigtime though and we made the best front 7 in football look very average Sunday.

No question about it neg 4 in turnover ratio will get you beat. Other than TO Dallas offense pretty much moved the ball through out the game and put up points.

I have a problem with the fake slant draw play that we continue to run. Garrett has a hard on for that play and it's just terrible it's not as if we run slants to make them think it's going to be a slant. Also the audibles need to change when the defense is calling out your audibles before the play start somethings gotta give.

Usually i agree but they were absolutely GASHING the Giants using that play. I dont see how you can complain. The Giants like to slant the DLine and over-pursue, so that draw play was absolutely killing them.

It's meant to freeze the linebackers from being able to committ to the run. Its like a playaction run.

It keeps them honest.

And we have ran more slants this year than probably all of last season.

I think Garrett is doing a heck of a job this year. He just had a QB sunday night that didn't protect the football.

I guess I need to pay more attention because I haven't seen any slants.

@ Johnskey I thought we're gashing them with the HB counter. Not that terrible draw play.

Well - everything was working in the running game especially in the 2nd half. Counters, draws, you name it. That's the best the OLine has blocked as a unit in a long while.

I like Choice...but Felix should get 10 touches before Choice even gets on the field.

You have a limited number of running plays during a game and Marion and Felix were both red hot.

What's the point of running Choice more when your top two RBs are doing such a great job.

Honestly, I think some fans look under rocks for things to complain about.

Playing the hot handi s good but you also don't want to run your guys into the ground. You can run the ball as much as you like.

Barber had 18 carries and Jones only had 7.

That's running guys into the ground? Choice is a good RB, but he's not as good as Marion or Felix, that's why he's 3rd on the depth chart.

You want your better backs getting the carries more so than your 3rd RB.

Choice has produce for us in key situations against better talent than what jones has dones. Before MB3 became our #1 he averaged 12 yards per game. So those extra 6-10 carries or what ever he's been averaging since he became the starter is running him into the ground otherwise he wouldn't be getting injured. I'd take Choice over Jones any day of the week and twice on sundays.

OK, that's certainly your perogative, but the coaches, who see all of the running backs every day, have decided that he is third on out depth chart.

As such, he'll get fewer carries than the top two, as the coaches feel that barber and Choice are simply better than Choice and give us a better chance to gain yard when they are in the game.

I love it when non-coaches try to make decisions days after the actual game.
:laugh2:
But, why don't you consider that:
1. Our No. 1 and 2 bacls were doing fine.
2. Our No. 3 is No. 3 for a reason (backup) and will be used exactly as he should this coming game, and that is to back up Felix and provide what MB maybe cannot do next game.
3. We got the aerial game going (such as it was) and that further limited use of Choice
4. And, maybe, just maybe, Coach Wade and the trainer thought that maybe they shouldn't expose Choice to hits when the team clearly didn't have to

OK, class is over.
You did well and were a good listener.

Bingo. Choice is a good back, but he's not the bruising intimidator Barber is nor the home run thread Felix is.

But I guess now we're blaming the coaches for Barber straining a quad on a breakaway run.

They also decided to keep proctor and carp . I really hate this logic. Same coaches that couldn't find a better back up than brad johnson last year I love it.
