Why Diggs not Mentioned

For DPOY, I mean the guy clearly had 11, did he need 18 to be mentioned. Everywhere I looked, it seems that DL dominate the nomination, I think this is wrong and Diggs deserves his due diligence! Please give your thoughts

Right... I'm content to know that he has earned a great reputation this year amongst Cowboy fans.... and QB's still think they can throw on him during the playoffs due to the yards he gave up. Those playoff interceptions will hurt even more!!! Beyond that, the lack of respect from the talking heads will just be fuel for the fire next season.

Because outside of the INTs he's having one of the worst CB season ever stat wise.

I get that it may not show up when you watch the games, but it shows up on the stats. Also, he's one of the worst graded CBs in the league in run defense.

I'm not mad at it. As long as he keeps getting INTs then I'm happy. Because I honestly don't see him get beat THAT much, but I guess he does.

Teague said Diggs has to improve his technique and he still looks uncomfortable playing up close.

tbf, he's been mentioned a little and even that little is based on the INT numbers alone. At one point he was 4th in vegas odds, but unless he broke a record his other coverage stats were always going to hold him back. I bet as he tightens up his coverag, the ints go down, so he likely wont ever win DPOY if he doesn't in the next year or two, because I expect he'll still be challenged a fair bit.

The Cowboys and their fans will get their own days in court of opinion.

I will take the 11 ints over any other DB metric.

11 times we got an extra possession because of him and 11 times he stopped a chance of them scoring.

The kid now has 16 ints in his first two years. Crazy!
I agree to an extent. You give me 11 turnovers and I will take the good with the bad. He is a guy I want on my team, and a guy who still has plenty of time to develop into that next level cover guy.

That said though the OP is talking about DPOY....and i'm not sure that is even close at this point. Are we giving Diggs DPOY over a Parsons, Watt, Garrett, etc. who excels in a particular area, but is also well rounded? I mean Diggs is a put up with the negative plays to reap the rewards of 11 ints....A guy like Watt its you get 20+ sacks with a solid player against the run as well. Diggs still needs to take that next step.

Diggs is having a historically bad year by every metric other than INTs. He has a lot of INTs b/c he gambles more than any CB in the league and loses a LOT. But, the gambling has paid off at least 11 times.

I like to measure his efforts the same way people measured Brett Farve's efforts,,,, that dude threw a lot of interceptions but along with those interceptions came just enough first downs and touchdowns to make it worthwhile. It's a fine line to walk for sure,,, our boy Diggs probably needs to dial it back a little but so far I'd say he's still in the net positive territory.

That's a really good point on the ints going down, this will be when he breaks the bank and gets paid us fans will say he didn't deserve the money lol

Most articles I've read do mention him and Parsons. But they acknowledge that tying the sack record is going to take the award

Wow, I didn't know a second year CB can have a historically bad year while at the same time leading the league in INT's. We should cut him. According to your metrics then Dak is the 5th best QB in the NFL and having a historically amazing year?

He was just explaining why he isn't being mentioned in the DPOY run. And that's absolutely plausible imo.
