Why do some members put people on "Ignore"?

I just want to know. Why do some members put people on "Ignore"?

If its something negative or not on point I just pass it to the side. I still want to know what people said if i agree with it or not.

Who is so weak they can't let a comment go? Help me, I don't understand.

I don't put people on ignore in the system, but there have been a few people whose names I will not mention who have gotten rude or argumentative, or their responses tended to be snarky. I just ignore their posts. But for the most part, the people here all seem pretty cool about everything.

I personally view it as the person cant handle a response and control their emotions. maybe "weak" is wrong worded. I don't want to be offensive. just curious.

I have ignored a few people that I rarely engage with but resort to insults. Those people are cancer and do not need any sort of engagement until they grow as a human. Others that have a history of being negative and attacking with several posts I keep them open for entertainment. The trolls I can deal with, the ones who simply attack like hivemind chihuahuas go on ignore. I may try to help people understand on topics outside of football, but if your emotion switch is running at 100% I want no part of your life.

I think some see it as the only power they have here from posters that ruin their time here. I do not think it is weak, they just don't want to be bothered. And some have a limited amount of time to spend here, why spend that with someone annoying them?

My favorite posts are the ones where they're threatening to ignore someone, I have had several of those. My all time favorite was how he ended it. Annnnnnd, back on ignore you go! I felt like Mr. Bill, "Oh nooooooooooooo".

I have never ignored any poster because I wouldn't want to give them the satisfaction of knowing they got to me enough for me to take that action. Besides that, there are times I like the action.

Everyone picks and chooses who they want to interact with in their private lives. This forum is no different. Some put up with enough idiots at work they don't want to come here and put up with more idiots. Believe it or not but some people really want to enjoy themselves on here.

Some of us don't want to read the same ole song from the same posters over and over. Much easier, and cleaner, to put them on ignore so we can easily read something worthwhile.

It's no different than what you already claimed to do, only cleaner and easier to sort through.

It's no weaker than using a tractor to plow the fields as opposed to doing it by hand. It's a tool meant to be used.

I think it's weak to criticize someone for doing things different then they themselves do. Maybe not weak, but certainly simpleminded.

Do you liked to be belittled or,ridiculed,or laughed at? Some are trolls and they do that. When I got here several years one I have had on ignore. Didn't like my mock draft and said I was most likely not even a Cowboys fan and also insulted my intelligence. Who wants to come here and have to see that posted about them? No one here I would think.....Some are like those Tag- A- long with a bully. They join in thinking they are funny at another posters expense......Life is too short. They go on ignore and can stay.

The only thing that bothers me about the ignore feature is people who become drama queens announcing when they place someone on ignore. Just do it and be quiet.

I typically don’t put people on ignore for disagreeing or being too negative or positive. I only put people on ignore who add absolutely nothing to board (e.g. making one line troll comments) and I only do it because the comments are always so stupid I don’t even want to waste the time scrolling by them. I know I am not missing anything because the comments don’t even spark additional conversation. They are just garbage posts.

Some posters will make a ridiculous post easily proved false by a simple search of the facts. Then instead of admitting they were wrong, they will try to change the narrative. I’m ok with that once, but when they continue to do it, I put their ***** on ignore. However after a couple of weeks I will take them off to see if they have changed. 90% of the time they don’t. But I live for the 10% that do.

They’re are people here, many, who have no agenda other than troll other members. Can’t mention their names, but we all know who they are. They deserve to be on ignore as they are the definition of Trolls.
