i am just curious as to why he is getting so much love from this forum....

it would help if you gave some stats to back up your claims for wanting or even for not wanting him.

he's a pretty good pass-rusher who can take advantage of the attention given to Ware, hell, he could take attention off of Ware by just being lined up on the otherside

but if we don't sign him, no biggie, it would be nice though

I am only asking cause i recall him having injury issues....

One positive about him is he has a ring...he knows what it takes to win a Championship.

I don't know much about Porter, other then he's a trash talking player that has backed it up..

Maybe the Dallas defense needs someone like that? Charles Haley kind of player...

I want a backup nose tackle...that's what I want next. I'm concerned about that...

Because he brings ATTITUDE, pass rush skills, and he's still rather youthful.. Our D needs some attitude, we don't have that type of player on defense in Big D. I'd love to have him...

Attitude.

7, 10, 7, sacks last three years.

We stink at generating a pass rush.

Championship ring.

He's a bad ***.

his attitude and intensity. plus while playing he has no love for the other team. lastyear i saw his teammate go to help up an opposing player and joey pulled his teammate over and started screamin at him. he is the definition of a linebacker.

Our defense needs a guy with an edge to him, an emotional leader. In the 90's we had J. Washington, Woodson, Sanders, Haley, Teague. emotional leaders do not have to be the best at their postitions but can be very good but the way they go about things can have an effect on a team emotionally. Think MJ and the Bulls, most of the guys on his team were trash but he had the ability to pick them up make them better as a team.

I would actually prefer Donnie Edwards but I will take Porter (at the right price). Need reasoning? Just watch the game film from last year and focus on Bradie James. Pay close attention to his innate ability to cover a TE on a fly route. Also center in on his ability to look totally confused in the simplest of "flow to the ball" situations.

if you tell people he's had injury problems and is turning 30 this month, that should scare away about half of the people on this board... i wouldn't mind having him, but I'm getting the sense from some interviews with stephen jones or wade phillips that they might use some linebackers in ways that they weren't used the past few years... there already are plenty of them on the roster IMO

In a 3-4 defense you can never have to many good LB's.

Our pass rush has been among the leagues worst the last 10+ years.
