Why do we always play well against good teams?

We still have NO/Pit and more to come. I swear this team comes into a game against a mediocre team and thinks they can just half *** it.

This team usually gets up for big games.

But everybody keeps screaming we could be 5-2 if Bailey makes that kick and Dez stays inbounds.

But Tampa Bay had a TD incorrectly called back, woulda been 17-16. And they stole one in Carolina.

Coulda been 1-6. But like the Tuna used to say, you are what your record says you are. We're a below average 3-4 team that is its own worst enemy.

To a degree, it's always been that way. Even in the pre-historic era, I loved it when we faced the giants or skins, but the St. Louis Cards made me cringe.

We beat Indy and NO when they were both undefeated.

I'm telling you, if we don't beat ourselves, we can surprise some people.

But we can't seem to get out of our own way.

That's disturbing.

It's the mystery w/ this team.

I think we win on Sunday.

Maybe it's because good teams don't take us seriously because we play so bad vs. the bad teams? That's my guess

Could be. There was a clip a weeks ago with Michael Irvin asking Roddy White and Julio Jones about Miles Austin and Dez, Jones and White laughed at them.

That's been the most frustrating thing over the past 5-6 years.

Very rarely does a team come right out and whoop up on Dallas. They usually win because Dallas misses a kick, has a costly turnover, or basically does something self destructive.

But the more I watch the Giants, even though people point to the Tyree play or Manningham catch - the reason they are so successful is because they are a fundamentally sound team that doesn't make the mistakes that Dallas routinely does.

Like Jimmy said, it's not about the amount of good plays you make, its about the number of bad plays you don't make.

It is, .. it is very frustrating.

At least during the Campo years I knew we weren't good, I knew we were probably going to lose.

Now I go into each and every game thinking we can win, only to have my heart ripped out and stomped on at the end.

The Giants game Sunday was the first time that I never got excited about winning or ever thought we were going to win. I just kept waiting to see how we were going to lose.

I was not wrong.

There is something wrong when you can depend on a team to beat themselves.

To be honest with you the cowboys record would say 3-4 and i say its should be 0-7.....

As stated before tampa had a TD called back
the giants didn't bring their A game, we also had a PI called that wasn't called which would have led to a touchdown
the panthers just played worse than we did, because we looked like puke

there is not one solid win out of all our wins not one and when i see the cowboys i see a 0-7 team......

3-4 is a the wrong record this team is not that good

I don't know. The Eagles shellacked us last year. The Giants beat us down the final game of last year. The Bears absolutely rolled us this year.

That's ridiculous to look at it so one sided.

If Bailey nails a makeable FG, we win that game. If Dez lands an inch closer, we win that game.

You're considering all the things that went right and not counting what went wrong.

Very true, but this team is right where it needs to be at 3-4. There were games that the Cowboys should have won, but a case can be made that there were 2 games that they could or should have lost as well. The Cowboys are right on track for another 8-8 season.

Tampa gets the TD on the fumble return called back by replacement officials.

Or the refs correctly call Dallas for 12 men on the Panthers 4th and 1 play.

Certainly this team could be 5-2, but with proper officiating they very well could be 1-6.

We got the timeout in time didn't we on the 4th and 1? Or I'm thinking of something completely different.

Well we don't, but I can see how it looks that way. The truth is the team is just wildly inconsistent. They might battle the Falcons this weekend and maybe even best them before they go on to get beat by the Browns in a few weeks.

The only thing you can trust about this team is that they are untrustworthy.

I can't remember exactly but I know they converted the play. All in all they stole an ugly win from a really bad team.

I think the better team won. If you think we stole the game vs Carolina, then what did you think about the 6 - 1 Bears game vs. those same Panthers last week, or Atlanta's Houdini job vs the "really bad" team?

And those two teams were BOTH at home.

It was kind of iffy, but the Cowboys were the better team on the field vs. Carolina.

or, to put in another way, why do we play so poorly against the weaker teams?

We've only beaten two playoff caliber teams in the last two years. I wouldn't call that playing well.
