You nailed it partner. Its what they do. DNA sorta stuff. I stopped getting caught up in the overly optimistic mumbo jumbo we see here every frikkin year. Now my motto is SHOW Me!!
Well all theyve shown me is more and more ineptitude and proverbial clownshows. Its almost comical to watch when you accept what they are

It's not comical if we just cut through the hype and call this team what it really is: above average. They are far from the worst in the league but also nowhere near as good as the media makes them out to be. The aura of beating the Cowboys means more to opponents than it truly should because they are simply a good to sometimes very good team. NOT elite.

I fell for it in 2007 then realized halfway through the playoff loss to the Giants that the franchise is cursed and JJ sold his soul for that one in 95’ lol…..Oh well

I ask myself this every Sunday. Best believe I’ll be parked in front of the couch ready to go Christmas Eve like this never happened though. Guess I’m a thrill seeker after all

Cause we like this team, we want hope we want them to be good. They'll get the 5 seed, they may even rest up and beat TB. But do you really think this team can win 4 straight playoff games?

This team has had talent over the years, but hasn't had a proper coaching staff since Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells. Thats what great coaching does, it can get the most out of less. Also elevate a talented team to a Super Bowl.

We unfortunately don't have the coaching talent on this team. Until that changes we won't go anywhere.

We fall for it because the Cowboys keep finding new ways to to surprise us in a bad way.

Watch them beat Philly Saturday, get everybody hyped up again, and then lose to Tennessee and we can have threads like this again on Dec. 30.

That's entirely possible. This is a really good team, but they aren't great.

More of the same since January 1996. Every freaking year since SB 30...we keep falling for the used car snake oil of the Joneses. Please take the star down, the silver and blue. These are the Arlington Grifters not worthy of being associated with the legacy of the past.

I don't. I never do. I'm never enamored with stats. The eye test told me this team had serious issues weeks ago, even when they were winning.

Can't make a playoff run with these players, not with these coaches. And now they're hobbled by injuries, so there's even less of a chance of a shocking playoff win.

Let’s just say you get past TB . Santa Clara has the last pick in the draft starting at QB.
Doesn’t matter, SFs defense will scare Dak into his poor throws and they will beat us. Their offensive game plan and skill players will make plays on this overrated defense.

I never fall for it, read my posts. I‘ve always been a realist and said after the loss to the Packers that I just don’t see it with this Cowboys team. This team looks very reminiscent of last year’s team. Championship caliber teams don’t blow 17 point leads when they have a chance to clinch a playoff spot.

Could this be a 10-7 season ? Tenn & Wash on the road are anything but sure anything after falling to a mediocre Jax . Need to salt away top Wildcard . Play the NFC South slop then what the Vikings ? Or would that be a trip to Santa Clara ….

Wouldn’t surprise me the way they are playing. They will make the Bucs look like a super bowl contender in the wild card round book it..

hope springs eternal doesn't it but. there are reasons you lose and here is a brief out line, No1 the corner back they started with #1 should be classified No-0 the only thing he can cover is a crime cover-up. No2 is that the backfield secondary looks like a deer in the headlights i don't know the coaches except al harris but needs to be fired every time some of the wide receivers get open most of the secondary stands there like there in a daze. N03 the quarterback or the OC for some reason 1 game good the others called terrible. No3 Hamburger mike isn't a coach but more of a spectator at the game his game management would in most teams get him fired. there is no way to fix this problem this season and when the eagles come to town get ready there gonna run the table on this lousy coaching staff i have seem coaching staffs from other teams get more out of there average team then these jerry boys . Now the logical thing is that jerry will come out and give some BS excuse after downing 6 or more shots of liquor of his choice and say to every body wait to the draft

I'm not entirely sure how to respond to this. On one hand, I'm a diehard fan. I don't know any other team that I'd rather cheer on. On the other hand, I have to say that I'm feeling less intense about the Cowboys than I used to. That said, how exactly do you mean by not falling for it? I'm not expecting a Super Bowl with Jerry involved. But, I'm never going to stop cheering for the Cowboys.

I didn’t watch the game today. I probably could have, but chose to do something else.

I still care. I can’t pretend I don’t.

But I did not watch precisely because I have not “fallen for it” this year.

Didn’t feel like being frustrated today.

I don't think many of us thought this was even a playoff team prior to the season. I think they've over achieved and have a good record. They have zero chance to win it all if that's your definition of falling for it. I never thought this team was able of a Super Bowl. They might win one playoff game, though I doubt even that, but they might. That's as far as even my homer heart can muster.

And by the way the OP was one of the bigger pom pom wavers prior to the season questioning the fandom of those who werent.

The Jags wanted to give Dallas the game the Lawrence Fumble the three and out in OT …the defense gave up 500 yards sure but the offense when faced with the dagger shot need to oblige .
