Why do we not throw to Witten?

What is with Bledsoe? He talks how great Witten is, but doesn't throw the ball to him. Witten was open yesterday more than not and never got a look. You can see the frustration on Witten after every play. He even raised his hands to the sky after one failed pass attempt when he was wide open. Dallas went years without a great TE and now that we have one, we don't use him. One of the keys to the game from the so-called experts was the mismatch of Witten versus Oaklands secondary. It was reported they were to slow and or short to cover Witten. So I just have to ask Why?

They throw to him just no way near enough during crunch time.

Witten was uncovered on the game ending 4th and 4 at the goal line, Bledsoe threw to a triple covered Glenn who once again ran a route that was short of the first down/goal line.

Because Bledsoe SUCKS. That's why. He tries to hide it, but it's all there.

1st: Witten caught twice as many passes as any other reciever.

2nd: Witten was about as open as Glenn, but Witten's route was shallower than Glenn's, and Witten had 3 defenders that would have stopped him short of the first down.

If Bledsoe's pass would have been a little higher to Glenn, we would have picked up the 1st down. Or, if Glenn could have caught the ball as it was thrown, we might have picked up the first down.

Parcells even said if Bledsoe looked left and saw wide open Witten, we had a touchdown. He never looked for him. So you are saying Witten had twice as many catches as any other receiver? So why go away from what works?

Because he didnt have time cause the OL was getting owned. Watch the play again he was about to get nailed.

Bledsoe like deep balls and big gains so he doesn't look underneath as much. Underneath routes are his 2nd or 3rd reads.

You indirectly :hammer: ....why are we calling plays where receivers are not in the end zone....game on the line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I get it...let's only get the first down...two inches off the goal line, then run the clock down to 3 seconds and run JJ up the middle at 665 lbs worth of DT's with our undersized Center...now I get "THE PLAN"

Did you guys catch that one play where Witten was dragging a whole group of defenders ala Mark Bavaro back in Parcells Giants days? That's why you gotta look at a guy like Witten come short yardage no matter what....not the smallish Terry Glenn. I thought we knew this since we were utilizing Keyshawn's body in the end zone the first few games.

i never understood that running the route 1 yd shy of the td, or the first down but it seems to happen a lot. the only guess i have is that defenders give you that space and bunch up tight right at the line so if you cross the line their right in front to defend the pass, so guess your betting the wr can stretch for that yard but so often they get pummeled in the back as soon as they touch the ball so theres no chance at all. i just dont like that play at all, seems like your playing right into what the defense wants you to do.

Bottom line...if it works "everyone" is happy, but it didn't so "everyone" is not happy.
