If I told you that two rookie coaches with inferior teams would be playing in the Conference championships with less talent than our Cowboys, would you be happy with that? One team even has a rookie QB!!!!

Man, with all the talent we have I still feel we are a badly coached team that on multiple occassions is un-ready to ball :bang2:

Question: Would you rather have Rex Ryan or Jim Caldwell as your coach than Wade?

You got whipped up front on offense, yesterday.

It's that simple.

I'll give you a baffling coaching move. They took Felix Jones out of the game when he was in the process of taking the game over. As a result, they didn't score.

Changes are coming to the offensive line.

Marc Colombo's guy is still running free.

Maybe you should consider NFC is a tougher conference.

Football is oval shape sometimes it bounces funny.

Only ONE team wins the SB, All others are losers........

Would you fire Belichek? or bend Brady?

Those two rookie coaches were playing in an inferior conference this year and one has Peyton Manning.

Say what you want, but he's the league MVP for a reason and I think him and Indy will burst the Jets bubble next week.

NFC was extremely tough this year and the 'boys did a good job getting this far. While we ALL want that champion to be the 'boys, this wasn't their year.

No one is settling, but as has been ad nauseum the last 24 hours, there can be only champion.

I hate to keep beating this dead horse, but the usage of Felix yesterday really does concern me. I understand saving Felix in the middle of the year -- he was coming off injuries, had lost some of his burst and we didn't really know what we have.

But the season was on the line yesterday and Felix was the only guy on offense that was doing anything.

Last time I checked Bellichek has a few Super Bowl rings so I think he has earned a free pass or two.

FWIW, the Ravens got pretty far last year also with Harbaugh as head coach, and Flacco at QB. The one constant was Rex Ryan.

The NFC is a far better conference than the AFC this year. "Hot" NFC teams didn't have the momentum to upstage the #1 or #2 seed, and several of them (GB and Philly) couldn't even win in the Wildcard round.

As WG stated, 31 teams and their fans will be disappointed this year. That is just the way this thing works. The farther you go, the harder the fall.

Take some positives away though from 2009:

(1) We found a #1 WR in Austin
(2) We didn't miss the players we let go after last year
(3) Jenkins has emerged as a solid CB on the rise
(4) Felix isn't just a flash in the pan. He is a legit home run threat.
(5) Additions of Olshansky and Brooking have worked well.

We leave this season with far fewer question marks versus this time last year. We know what needs to be fixed, and sometimes it takes a butt-whipping like this to expose the weaknesses for what they are.

Now we can go into the offseason and address them, and re-emerge a better team.

I'll give you most if not all of that. The only slight argument I'll make is that I think the loss of Canty probably contributed some to Ware's reduced production. But Igor was a beast against the run and the D as a whole played better, so it was probably a good move for the team.

This is a senseless comment. What makes you think the fans accept mediocrity? Jerry Jones is the biggest fan of them all. Do you think he was happy with what he saw yesterday?

If you want to know what mediocrity really is, why don't you ask the Browns or Seahawks fans?

The Seahawks were in the Superbowl just 4 years ago and have won multiple playoff games in the recent span of years.

The Browns fans aren't accepting being a doormat anymore. They rose up and forced change or at least the idea that things will change in them prompting the organization to hire Mike Holmgren.

Cowboys fans, on the other hand, defend a loser like Wade Phillips who has made it a routine to get his team embarrassed.

No question M.

They did do a very good job this year.

But there are 3 things from that game that will probably haunt Cowboy fans for a long time to come:

1. Why was Columbo out there? Yeah, after Flozell was hurt, it became a mute point. But it was readily apparent that Columbo was getting a major beat-down. To let Free sit on the sidelines while Columbo was getting owned was disappointing. But not as disappointing as...

2. Taking Felix Jones out of the game and inserting Barber. Barber just doesn't have it. And then asking Barber to run wide? Just an incredible decision.

3. The field goal attempt on 4 & 1. That just screamed "give-up" at that point.

Not a well managed or played game by the folks with stars on the helmet.

Yesterday's game left alot for fans to chew on for the offseason. Unfortunately, there were a few of those games this year that left alot for fans to chew on even those we won (KC and 1st Skin game come to mind). This was just the latest.

I don't think anyone acknowledging the wholistic success of the team means that they can't acknowledge that this team still has some warts.

I agree with Hos when he said he didn't feel this was a SB team. There was enough inconsistencies to make me feel they weren't quite there yet. Garrett's growing pains as an offensive mind.

No question.

Hos was right.

It's a good team, but a flawed team.

Come September if we have the same 5 guys starting on the oline, that started yesterday, then this team has probably peaked.

Uh, and maybe our defense allowed 34 points?

And the fat guy will give his fist pump regardless.

OK, we lose Adams, then on our first possession without him the team lines up on offense with Witten on Jared Allen with no help and on a play call that had disaster written on it all over, Allen gets to Romo and the rest is history. I'd say coaching had a lot to do with our loss.

These are the decisions that make you wonder whether Garrett and Co. have a sense of in-game strategy or understand the flow of the game.

Whatever happened to riding a horse until he gets you to your destination?

Were we afraid we would wear Felix out by the end of the game?

Why do you carry three excellent backs if we're scared to wear out Felix?

What happened to going with a strategy until the other team stops it?

It's almost like we have a scripted plays, and we stay with them regardless.

You want to say this is just inexperience on behalf of Jason Garrett. But how long are we going to have to wait until he "gets" it? We have the talent to progress to the NFC Championship based on this year and 2007.

We can't waste this team while Garrett grows up.

Little Felix got tired. plus wade was saving him for next season.

Some of these things were no surprise.

Garrett's playcalling doesn't lead to much continuity, and he seems to come up short against solid defenses. See the Green Bay game, and the first game against the Commanders as examples. This has been an issue all year. He never seems to stick with the hot hand, which Felix clearly was yesterday.

A lot of us questioned Columbo's return last week. IMO, you don't mess with o-line continuity in the playoffs barring injuries. Columbo was shelved for 2 months. It is a tall task to ask him to return to form after that much time off, especially in a pressure-packed game. 2 months off is a long time for an olineman, as the footwork isn't quite back yet without a lot more practice time.

I don't know if I really fault them on the 4th and 1 call. I think they just wanted to get some points on the board and build some confidence. It was clear that the Vikings defense was attacking differently each time we got at the 30 yard line.
