Why do you want to make the playoffs?

Fair enough.

Can we call a truce here. I wasnt trying to act any type of way. I am just extremely frustrated with this team.

And when they dont even bother getting off the bus to play a game. I feel for those fans that pay to be there. The players may not care, but I do.
You hope the players feel the same frustration. I do think they do and I don't get hung up on the "smiles" after the game because they are seeing a lot of guys they played with in College, etc, but sometimes you do wonder. It just seems like we don't have any real Dawgs on this team. I don't mean we are soft, but we don't have those run through the wall types either. Maybe a couple on the OL (both OGs), but not sure really who else.

Ok.

First of all.

Its ok to be called a hater, and a fake fan, and a loser all off season when all you are saying is "im taking a wait and see approach" - this is by the guy you are talking to by the way.

So me then saying, this team for what seems like year 1000 has believed that they show up to the stadium and other teams don't even have to play, and they don't deserve to go to the playoffs and that justifies me being called more names?

This isnt about I told you so.

This is the reality of the garbage product this family has put on this field. The culture (which Rockport said was changing under Schotty) that Jerry has created, and the complete lack of care of the players.

This is what it turns good fans into.

Sorry if you dont like the fact I am not going to sit here and cheer on a team that cant even show up to the stadium.

You know who you should feel bad for? The fans who paid to be there. The fathers who spent paychecks taking their kids to that game probably straight from their factory job for the players to not even show up.

Maybe get mad at them. Not at the fans who want to see change.
to be clear - i never once referenced you or even eluded to your commentary in the thread, my statements were very much general and meant in no way to be directed at you. I am sorry you took them that way, my statments were more so overall observations of the site in general.

i fully support your right to view, cheer, not cheer, do whatever makes you happy with this team

:facepalm:King of the okie doke/Groundhog Day.
Too early in the season to think tank. Even if we did tank it's not only unejoyable as a fan but what would you expect the Jones family to do next? Trade away draft capital to go get Arch Manning who may not be as good as his last name suggests? Trade away most good players for unknowns?

Teams like the Jets, Browns, Dolphins have been tanking several times over the last few decades and as fans what gives us confidence the Cowboys will tank better than them? Lol

Do those fan bases think of a Bill Murray movie each time?

THAT...I agree with 100%
Oh good-you sounded like you were speaking from inside the huddle on a comment I saw earlier. That’s why I asked if you were a player. Never mind then. I’m glad that you agreed with me.

Judging by Daks reaction to the valet driver, if the QB doesnt care about the guy being frustrated and trying to get him fired because he hurt his feelings, I would imagine that permeates the rest of the team.

All assumptions but a leader would have said "Yeah he said it, and he is right, we were embarrassing." and left it there.

The one fanbase that has the worst GM in football yet expects him to miraculously field a good roster every year definitely thinks of Bill Murray Groundhog day every season. You can set your clock to it.

I keep seeing this recurring theme here about wanting to make the playoffs, and while I get it, I really dont.

Being on this forum I am convinced a lot of you dont watch other football teams play.

If Dallas squeaks into the playoffs, it will be to get embarrassed nationally. There is no amount of "growth" this defense can have this season that will help them against LA, SF, or a host of other NFC teams that run hard, and play to win.

So other than your own "fan" inside, which makes me question the word because any self respecting fan wouldnt want to just get there so they can be "right".

This team needs an exorcism and the only way that happens is if they lose, a lot, and the NFL pulls their primetime slots.

You want to know when Jerry will care? When that happens.

So please, stop cheering for other teams to lose, get hurt, just so the lowly Cowboys can sneak in to get curb stomped by SF, again.

Or please explain to me why you even want to get there. You know this is going to happen. It is not a what if.
This team isn't making the playoffs!

But its fun watching them get into the playoffs and get destroyed?

That isnt fandom, thats caring about your personal feelings more than the team.

I love Star Wars. Doesnt mean i watch ROTS expecting Anakin to not kill Mace Windu.
So you’re saying I’m selfish if I want the team to be competitive? That doesn’t make sense

I mean, the mood swings consist of buying a corvette not craving pickles and peanut butter. Ill take the vette. lol
This wasn’t reflected at you, it was because you made the comment about a female going through menopause, you heard about the male chauvinist that thought , harass, was two words

Do you admit you were wrong for hoping they don’t make the playoffs?

And again exactly why do you not want them to make it?
This does not look like a fan.

You rather sit out the playoffs as opposed thinking they will will lose in an embarrassing way.
This does not look like a fan.

Fans of all teams cheer other teams to lose ot is how any team gets to the playoffs for HFA, as teams can’t win all the games, except a few rare occasions so far.

LOL.

Does it?

So how come they have been with Dak to how many games, and not gotten better....

You cant expect to be taken seriously saying that.
And you can’t expect to be taken serious telling other fans to not want them to make the playoffs.

yeah Rockport - its just tough with so much negative energy around this team (which is totally justifable and understandable).

I totally support anyone using this site to help them cope, which many do, but its tough to read sometimes.

I really hope we see a turn around the next 3 games and this team starts to feel different.

The most negativity seems to come from the "i told you so" group who would rather be correct in their doom and gloom prediction than see actual success (or so it seems).

sigh.
If you think Rocky isn't part of the "told ya so" crowd you are very much mistake.

He's just on the other side of the coin you mostly notice.

Wehn his "told ya so" mentality runs out of steam...he'll go away...for awhile.

"thinking"? The track record is VERY solid.

And don't think for one second I'm rooting for us to lose. The only thing I want them to do differently is *If* we're already elimated, say in the final game (ring a bell?)...then rest some of the starters instead of playing for stats or risk injury. Play the guys that need development/playing time.

And if we DO make the playoffs...please take it seriously. Instead of pre-planning victory parties.

your not being realistic , if you think you can change anything with the cowboys or us fans.
We can root however we want to.
Being in the playoffs even for 1 game is better than not being there at all.
Every team will lose in the playoffs except 2. The longer your team goes the more their fans enjoy it,

If anything it gives fans hope however brief it may be.
Better to be a cowboy fan right now than miami or the titans.
For some fans it is SB or bust , but I am not like that , just want a good enough season.

Getting to the playoffs is the goal. Where anything and everything can and will happen.
Track record is in the past. I don’t live in the past.

Maybe others do to have a miserable outlook. So the can go have a pity party over it. I won’t be there.

Maybe THAT'S been "the problem". If we do make it, the goal has been achieved.

I wanna watch as many games as possible, from my favorite team,
What I find embarrassing, is the way the fans react to their favorite team
I don’t recall, the Patriots ever having a negative fan base . even when the team wasn’t winning.
I mean, it’s not everybody,
Guess I just take the good with the bad , it’s not like I can do anything about it,
No what’s embarrassing is 30 years of embarrassment. You don’t think fans who experienced great times then hung in for as long as they could before not caring is unfair because of a narcissist owner?

He took the love of my life and turned it into an acquaintance. Maybe you’re younger - I would understand that.

You’re right there’s nothing we can do but I chose not to be emotionally or financially invested until Jerry’s gone and hopefully Charlotte is named his successor.
