Why does Beasley return punts?

If I were the special teams coach, I'd have him sit and watch Parcells' take on returning. He does absolutely nil of what Parcells suggests when returning a punt. I'd actually bring in a rugby chap to return punts before I let him catch one again. Rugby players actually do what Parcells says when they catch a rugby-kick.
Agreed. Good post!

I must say though. How **** must our return game be if Beasley's the best we've got apparently (aside from the injured Tavon Austin)?

yes, and he seems to think he's on bloody Dancing with the Stars when he's actually returning it.
He is terrible. He moves one way, then the other, then back the other and gets tackled. Can’t he be coached to do one quick fake, so the 1st guy misses, then get straight up field.

Also our punt return blocking sucks. Beasley very seldom has any room to run. We do a terrible job of blocking the gunners.

He is horrible. I can't remember the last time he even had a decent return. It's a fair catch or gain 4 yards and that's it.
That’s better than a turn over
Everyone wants a real returner but we don’t have one and atleast Beasley doesn’t make mistakes

Can someone tell me why Beaskey returns punts.....because hes pretty bad at it

They were banking on Austin before he broke. Thompson cut. I'm surprised they couldn't dig someone else up. The Jourdan experiment on offense and returns has been bad news.

I would have liked to see Jackson get a chance, but if he's brought up at all, it's probably after Austin is healthy. Although maybe they continue to let Austin sit to heal up the groin for the playoffs?

Remember, he’s back there replacing Tavon Austin. Though today’s NFL doesn’t have KRs and PRs for touchdowns. In fact, more often than not these are negative plays as there always seems to be a hold or block in the back.

If it were up to me, they would never block anybody on a punt return and just fair catch every one. I hate the holds and blocks in the back putting the Cowboys inside the 10 yd line.
With all the penalties and poor returns, I wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys avg a loss on every punt return.

Y’all must not remember theRams game from last year when we had the game in hand by multiple scores and all the momentum changed and flipped right back to the end when Switzer fumbled on the punt return and the rams won it from there.

Y’all framing never satisfied until Austin fumbled and then we’ll see another thread complaint about it. The risk isn’t worth the reward. Our blockers don’t even make it down the field to block for the punt returner and we always have a penalty even when we framing fair catch or or don’t even field the punt. How does that even happen?!?!
