Why does Beasley return punts?

They put him out on punt returns so he doesn't forget what it feels like to have a ball hit him between the numbers.
This may be a joke but I think this is most likely the real reason. Our coaches are easy to influence by players. I'd even argue Gallup should be returning punts or kicks at this point in his career. Much faster and better in the open field with better vision.

Of we are going to keep Beasley as the returner then the special teams philosophy should be to never block. Even with space Beasley can turn what should be a nice return into a negative yardage play. We need to accept the fact Cole won’t get a good return and eliminate the penalties while trying to block for him.

i cringe on punts because i know only bad will happen

put zeke back there he does everything else. At least he will lower his head and punish someone

I’m to lazy to look it up does he have a fumble on a return this year?

haha me too. but im pretty sure i remember him coughing it up enough to where i cringe any time its kicked to him

though i cant remember not cringing since the 90's

i cringe when dak drops back for 5 seconds, i cringed when romo started instantly running for his life, etc...

Yeah I understand waiting for something to happen

The fact that he still returns punts just shows we dont take the position seriously.

Surprising because Garrett was here when Dwayne Harris saved us multiple games.

Now they are calling penalties when Zek lowers his head to protect his knees and punish someone. Ridiculous!

Can someone tell me why Beaskey returns punts.....because hes pretty bad at it
It quite simply is not important to the Cowboys.

And honestly, special teams in general has taken a nose dive the last couple of years. Kickers can't kick, punters can't punt and returns for scores seem like they are more few and far between.

I am not worried about it. As long as he fields it and doesn't fumble, par with most in the league.

And at the end of the day, who else do people want? That loser Lance Lenoir?

Because our HC is a moron?

Because when our HC says "all 3 phases of the game" he thinks he's playing cowboys and aliens ?

Because we don't take that position seriously. Harris and Whitehead were better PRs.

Y’all must not remember theRams game from last year when we had the game in hand by multiple scores and all the momentum changed and flipped right back to the end when Switzer fumbled on the punt return and the rams won it from there.

Y’all framing never satisfied until Austin fumbled and then we’ll see another thread complaint about it. The risk isn’t worth the reward. Our blockers don’t even make it down the field to block for the punt returner and we always have a penalty even when we framing fair catch or or don’t even field the punt. How does that even happen?!?!

So you're the dont leave your house guy so nothing horrible happens?

That is not a pro's mentality, never mind a champion's mindset.
