So far he's 0-2 on important FG's this year. Yet nobody is talking about something being wrong wth the almighty Buehler? He makes the FG in washington, we tied the game on that last drive. He makes is against Chicago, maybe-- just maybe-- the defense is in a totally different mindset. Whatever the case, he missed 2 field goals that were pretty damn important.

he should have never been in a position to be a FG kicker. Jerry and the coaching staff should have known it was to much of a risk and should have signed somebody else.

he is getting his share of hate but a lot of it goes to poor management.

Because no one really thinks he should be kicking field goals in the national football league.

Only our owner who decided to go full ****** this offseason believes that. So you can't blame the kid for trying.

You mean you missed all the threads and posts with people calling to cut him and replace him with stover or a different kicker...yet nobody talked about it?

Odd.

another reason is because The Buhler is a man to be feared. He could make your head launch to the sky by a kick to the groin.

Because 5 years from now this guy is going to be drilling field goals from 50 in his sleep. Give the dude a chance, he's not a field goal kicker. He will be. If you want to put the blame on somebody, put it on the front office for rushing him into that position.

These jokes simply aren't funny anymore.

The Patriots kicker is 1 of 4 and they haven't cut him yet. It's because in both cases they think they have a better kicker than the production is showing.

You can't compare a pro bowl kicker to an unproven commodity...

Being a pro kicker means nothing as we can attest with Nick Folk.

Why not? A kicker is a kicker. Either you can kick or you can't. You don't get better with age. Mike Vanderjagtoff couldn't kick worth a crap here and he was also a Pro Bowler. If they feel he can kick than he should stay kicking. But at this point of the season you're not gonna find a Pro Bowler kick on the street. It might be a simple case of there's nothing better out there. Is Matt Stover really worth having 2 kickers on the roster?

An entire year, then an offseason and a consultant later is "rushing it"?

He would not be the first kicker to take years to develop. And he could become a good one. Problem is, we are not good enough to allow him the opportunity to do so right now.

Those are the breaks. He would not be the first kicker to blossom after bouncing around for a while.

I do not have any sympathy for him. He was handed the job on a silver platter. He was given every luxury to help him succeed. He has not done so.

We desperately needed him to be the kicker and not make us have to take two roster spots to fill one job.

Above all else, it was vital that he not do what Folk did, which was miss the clutch kicks we needed to win when we were struggling. If we were scoring TDs galore and he misses one a game, it can be lived with. When every point counts with a struggling offense, he has to be the solution. If he's not, get another kicker. And now, not four weeks from now, when your chances of signing a quality veteran are gone.

Why don't people read this forum before making threads like this? Buehler hasn't gotten a pass. No player has gotten a pass.

I couldn't agree more...

He has hurt us 2 weeks in a row and im guessing the team is just going to keep ignoring it until he costs us another game.

Not his fault he's not a very good kicker, and never has been. He didn't draft himself. He didn't let Nick "5/5 this year" Folk walk away without a chance to put it together here. He didn't punt what little competition there was a week into training camp, basically proclaiming him the starter. He didn't decide not to bring in a veteran insurance policy sooner.

Beuhler is what he is - an erratic FG kicker. He was in college. And he hasn't failed from lack of effort.

This is all on the Marketing Manag...I mean GM who rolled the dice and once again got snake eyes when it comes to this position.
