Why Does Houston Not Play More?

I actually have noticed him many times in the little amount of snaps he's be on the field for compared to Fowler who i think I remember noticing twice all year. Sam Williams too may as well be invisible, and I thought the same of Kneeland, RIP. Clooney Ive noticed a couple times, but he's not been here all year. EZE and Houston seem to be the DE's I actually notice during games doing things. EZE has been moved up to started over Sam, finally. But Houston still remains down on the depth chart and and on snap counts.
WHY? I don't get it. Id rather see more of Houston and EZE at DE with Clowney and Fowler behind them. I have no use for Sam Williams. What a disappointment. We waited so long for nothing.

He's a situational guy playing the pass where he shines. I think he's on the smaller side (6'1" 245 lbs), so he's not ideal as an every down player. He'll get sacks off the bench and fit into to special pass rush packages.

You're probably talking about all season, and it's probably because he's not a great run defender. IIRC, Schotty even alluded to that earlier in the season. However, last night he played just about as many snaps as the other Ends. They played them all pretty evenly.

My guess is that he's weaker against the run and also because they prefer to use rotations to keep legs fresh as the defensive scheme depends heavily on upfront pressure.
This is why. Houston is smaller than Parsons, IIRC.

I still can't believe he hasn't played any LB with how bad our LBing was this year.
