Why doesn't Orton come in for the Hail Mary plays?

I didn't see the game, but I have a question .... why doesn't Kyle Orton come in for the Hail Mary plays? From the looks of things, Orton has the stronger arm.

Romo could have thrown that ball deep last night, but elected to take the safe throw and let the team lose. Lets face it, he couldn't allow another potential pick on his stat sheet could he? NO Qb does that when the game is on the line.

But yes, Orton is by far the better option in this offense than Romo.

Tony also had three balls that easily could have been int's last night, however; this week, luck was on his side.

Oh stop

the pick that got called back was because Witten got held, if he hadn't been he would have been in front of the defender and made the catch. He underthrew Dez on another play, but the ball was catchable.

Might I remind you of Matty Ice throwing it right into the hands of Claiborne on the last drive for what could have been a disastrous INT, if not for the quick thinking of Julio Jones. The woulda coulda shoulda goes both ways.

As for the topic of this thread, however, I agree. It has nothing to do with who's a better QB, but Orton clearly has the better arm. Tony cannot get it 70 yards in the air.

Orton would be sacked more than David Carr behind this oline. Romo's mobility is the only reason we don't lead the league in sacks giving up....or at I don't think we do.

Maybe if we could block a three man rush, we'd have seen a deep throw...

No kidding. It was pretty embarrassing that the entire ride side of the line collapsed on the most important play of the game when you absolutely cannot collapse. And against one guy too. What, did the pass rush surprise Free?! Did he think the DE was going to drop into coverage?!

Romo almost got sacked on the last play, that means Orton would of. Romo does have an arm, did you not see his 65 yard pass last night?

plus, the play call wasn't even a hail mary. it was let everyone run deep then throw it short and try to run for it. it shouldve been a hail mary though.

Did you see the moves Romo had to make just to get the ball off vs a 3 man rush?

So you want a guy who hasn't thrown a pass in a game in weeks, and is coming in cold off the bench and throw a 65 yarder, ok.

Behind an oline that couldn't block a 3 year old

Or you use trips and roll him to that side, it's been done for years, yet we try the pocket.

Didn't Romo throw to Ogletree for about 60 yards in the air earlier in the game? Max you'll get another 2 or 3 yards, but I'm not even sure about that. I'll take the guy who's in, who we trust.

65 yards.

We dunked and dunked with 17 seconds and 80 yards to go. Garrett is a mad genius

I know everyone is upset about the game, but you throw the 7-15 yard throws to get in position to throw a deep ball. The last play was a deep ball play, but romo didn't have the blocking to get that done so he kept the play alive and dumped it off. I would of been pissed if he would of got sacked.
