Why don't all teams have hyperbaric chambers

I don't get it if hyperbaric chambers help you heal faster. Why don't all teams have them in their training rooms? Cost? I wouldn't think so.

:money:

But I will be honest, I would do it. One of those saved my Mom's life and everyone I've ever heard of who used one has had amazing results.

they arent too bad actually as far as cost goes, tons of hospitals have them, so if it was needed there are ways for players to use them. TO just happened to buy one for himself.

If a player can afford one, I'm pretty sure the franchise can too.

The one TO uses and the big ones a team would have to use are nowhere near the same thing. Plus you have to have Techs to operate it. They are similar to a diving decompression chamber. Some people get claustrophobic in them. I think they would be a huge advantage.

I doubt they could get players to stay repeated nights in one at the training facility or a hospital for that matter. Now getting one like TO for the player to take home would make sense.

Owens has a portable hyperbaric tent.

They run about 15-25k and are probably much less affective than the big, immovable units found in a hospital or wound care center.

You don't have to sleep in them. A one hour session after workouts and games would make them all heal faster. You can only get about 6 to 8 people in one of the big ones at a time.

T.O. said the one he uses cost $12,000 - just a one person chamber though, it was on Cribs.

In simple terms, Oxygen is what heals our bodies. We normally breathe 20% Oxygen and 80% Nitrogen. Baric is a type of pressure. Similar to pulling 2Gs on a carnival ride. That is why some people get claustrophobic.

So the chamber increases the Oxygen atmosphere to 5 times normal and the pressure on the body to 2 times normal.

This speeds the healing process up considerably.

After workouts and games the team could do 1 hour sessions listening to music and it would work better than whirlpools to ease pain in muscles and joints.

It is actually a fantastic idea and process.
