Crazy Ray has been a big part of Cowboy games for several decades. I am a little shocked that JJ and the Cowboys organization has not stepped up to help. It would be the right thing to do and would be a huge PR deal for this organization.

In the article posted here earlier today, it stated that Jones has helped him out on many occasions...

Jerry does a lot of good stuff that he doesn't make a big deal out of. He very well may have helped him -- but what is he going to do? support the guy?

I do not believe he has done much at all and it would not take much to SUPPORT the guy who SUPPORTED the Dallas fans for 30+ years......

The simple solution--shame on you for thinking it--would be for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to write Ray a big check. But quietly, privately, he's been doing just that for years.
Nothing official. Nothing steady. Just a parking pass and field access to every home game. A couple thousand dollars via handshake during Ray's amputation operation. Mysteriously catered food to the family in the week after their daughter's death. And every Cowboys appearance in a Super Bowl came complete with airfare, hotel, game tickets for Ray and Mattie and a wink.
"As Ray will tell you, the Cowboys have been more than gracious," Walker said. "Now it's time for the fans to give back."

The fans on the Cowboy forums just need to send a few bucks a piece, it sounds like it would make a world of difference to a fellow Boys fan.

and if Jerry sent him a check for $500,000 somebody would want to know why Jerry didn't send him a cool million... who knows to what extent Jerry Jones has helped behind the scenes and what business is it of our's?

you can't just take care of everyone who needs it. if Jerry supported everyone, he'd be broke

more importantly, we wouldn't have as much cash to sign FAs -- and that is what is really important isn't it?
