That is my point as well, Jimmy Johnson could careless about character, he was more concearned with who could help him win on Sunday and in the long run that is all that matters. I miss the swagger, confidence and down right cockiness of the past. We need playmakers!

Since when did Dallas fans want a bunch of choir boys on the team that are only good character people?

some of this freaking out over TO ruining Dallas is hilarious. Whats he going to ruin? Dallas has made the playoffs once in the last many years. Its worth the chance

As for Deion he was a showboater but never ripped his team

Neither did Owens.

He ripped two players. McNabb and Garcia. Not the team.

It was up to those two to handle the situation and apparently they couldn't.

Owens got power because these two were too weak to keep it.

It's pretty simple as far as I'm concerned.

On the one hand you have "your team."

On the other you have "players you like or dislike."

When you can add a "favorite player" to "your team" well that's just icing on the cake.

That's how I felt when we picked up Bledsoe and drafted Roy.

When your team adds a player you dislike, you suck it up and you root for the best for your team.

That's how I felt about Deion, Keyshawn, Terry Glenn, and probably a few others. And that's exactly what I'll do with Terrell Owens.

If we pass on him, so be it. But if we sign him, then he's a Cowboy, and I'll root for him to do his best and help the team succeed.

Everyone loves Key now and misses him, but when we brought him in, he was a "cancerous dick who's on the downside of his career." I pretty much agreed with that sentiment, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and root for him since he was a now a Cowboy. And see, he proved himself and became an asset.

Why wouldn't I give Owens the same opportunity?

For the record, I'm neither an "old school" fan or a "newbie." As my username suggests, I started rooting for the Cowboys in the early 80s when I was a kid. I've stuck with them through thick and thin, so I'll certainly stick with them through the Terrell Owens chapter of their story.

That was a great post.
