Josh Brent, speaking about why playing football, again, will make sure that his friend he heped kill while speeding and dui "won't die in vain."

OK, mens and womans, I am known as a linguistrician in Farmers Branch and have served as translator between athaletes and the public so maybe I can make sense of Brent's quote.

No ah cant.

Well, does Brent means that when he now play football his friend's death will mean something?
That his playing NFL football will make the situation better? Well, maybe better for Brent.
sigh.

Dez Bryant about lagging negotations for mon-ay: "You know, it's not about the money. It's not about none of that."
Good. Now Jerra and his tubby son can give him treemendous amounts of respect and loyalty but go easy on the money they will give him henceforth and forwith.

I dunno.
I think athaletes are like artists in what they do on the field and stuff.
But when they start to talk I cringe. OK, Romo is a exception. And Witten. And Murray talk good too. And I think TD Williams can aquit hiself good in public speaking. But that's it.

I just want to tell most athletes: Just shuddup and play!
Holla!

I personally wish contracts and salaries were none of the fans business and stayed between players and owners.

They're basically used as promotional items. Team gets to use the big contracts as recruiting tools for free agents. Agents get to say I got X player more money. Player gets to leverage their contract for even more money for endorsements and whatnot.

Another poster that doesn't realize athletes have media obligations and they will be fined if they don't speak.

I suppose if you're willing to front the fines for these athletes then and only then would they be willing to shut it for you.

Dez could easily say no comment on contract talks. I would rather hear him talk about those divisional games coming up shortly.

You half to understand (if yo can) the difference between not letting players speak and players spouting nonsense. I hope you can appreciate the distinction. If not, then you are not a linguistician like me.

When I had my yearly review at work, I made sure I was was respected and appreciated. And that means they had to pay me what I thought they owed me.

It wasn't *specifically* about the money. I was making enough as it was, and my raise basically all went into savings. I probably would have worked for less if the company wasn't doing well, since I like my job. But the company is doing well, and not sharing that with the person who helped them achieve that would be disrespectful to me. So it wasn't about the money, but getting the money is getting the respect.

So I know what Dez means by its not about the money, it's about the respect. He's a top 5 WR in this league. He wants the Cowboys to recognize that and reward him appropriately. I think that's fine.

and if he said that, then the media would say he is saying nothing because he is choked and wants to leave Dallas

I hope that Dez really want the respect over money. if so, Jerra is off the hook. Just build a statue of Dez to stand next to Landry's statue and maybe rename the stadium Dez Respect&Loyalty Stadium.

But it might be just a guess that he want the big money.

Respect.

How does the OP get to 13k posts and doesn't know the difference between life and football. One is a game.

I wonder if I can get people to like this post for no reason at all.
