1. Before BP decided to sign an extension, JJ and BP must have discussed the 2-year plan. Clearly, JJ knows BP is close to the end of his coaching career. It's now or never with BP at the helm.

2. BP wouldn't waste his time if he thought the owner wasn't serious about winning it all. Why not simply go back to NY? I'm sure someone would offer him a heafty contract.

3. The only significant reason I can see BP coming back (other than money) is knowing that with a solid FA period, a solid draft, and a bit of luck, he has a legitimate shot at going to the Super Bowl. BP and JJ MUST have discussed what they need to get this off-season, with JJ "promising" to uphold his part, before BP decided to extend.

4. Frankly said, if the defense remains healthy, and if we can get a FS, a LB to complement Ware, and maybe pick up a big NT, we probably have a top 5 defense. I'm still impressed that with all the inexperience we had on defense this year, along with running a new scheme, we did as well as we did on defense. And in today's NFL, a top defense and a reliable FG kicker is often enough to get you to atleast 0.500, if not even into the playoffs.

5. IF the OL is fixed (and it's a big IF), a healthy J Jones/MMIII, Witten, and Key, Crayton, and Glenn are sufficient weapons to have a decent offense. If we can add one more WR to spread the defense, we suddenly have a potent offense.

6. With the NFL being watered down the way it is . . . . to go from 9-7 to 11-5 and be a real contender is definitely doable.

7. JJ said so about a week ago on an interview . . . .

O.K. Now go ahead and hammer me . . . . :)

I'll buy that. I expect to see us making some moves in Fa as soon as the FA period starts. Maybe not as many as last year but I see us bringing in at least two or maybe three guys. And with Lacewell gone I expect us to have another good draft.

I agree as well. The defense did very well with all the "new" that was in place. I don't think we need a big tackle right away because Ferguson was very good with the Jets and played only part time this past season. If LaRoi goes then it's all Ferguson in the 3-4 and I believe with him on the field only getting spelled he's a much more productive player as opposed to being in every other series.

The O-Line is key for the offense. Even without another receiver to spread the offense with what we have now if Bledsoe gets the time he's shown what he can do. I also feel if the line is better Bill won't be so quick to NOT open the offense up as much. When Flozell was in he was very open. I like our chances (barring injury to a major player) next season for winning the division and going far into the playoffs. Again, O-Line will make all that happen.

I just think JJ can almost taste it. That is why we go for it this next season.

Response to #1: That's a no-brainer, but so what. They discussed the two year plan. As an old philosopher once said, "You can draw an a$$hole on paper, but you still can't sheet through it"

Response to #2: Bill can stand on his head for two years to earn $9,000,000. He wouldn't have stayed for $3,000,000.

Response to #3: You are probably right on this one, Bill thinks with Jerry's money and his expertise, he has a shot to coaching immortality. Remember, Bill thinks this.

Response to #4: Again, you are probably right about the defense, except, Ferguson and Johnson will fill the nose tackle position, but an inside linebacker who is a standout is really needed more. Ware will get help on the outside from the draft or FA, but Fowler has to have some competition.

Response to #5: Speed at WR is critical. Crayton and Johnson cannot get much separation. Glenn can, but if he gets hurt, and he was lucky in 2005, the passing game is then restricted to 10 yards and less. A playmaker at WR is needed.

Response to #6: Probably, the Cowboys could have been 11-5 real easy this year. But, the Giants and Commanders have improved, and Philly won't be a pushover.

Response to #7: JJ says anything to appease the reporters groveling at his feet. JJ only signs the checks, we learned during the post Aikman years he can't field a winning team on his own.
