1. Romo clearly trusts Dez now.

2. We were a FG away from beating a legit super bowl contender in THEIR house, with refs obviously on their side.

3. Felix looks like he's back to rookie Felix

4. Teams still aren't great at passing against us

5. Jenkins and Spencer look like they're playing for a contract, Spencer is definitely missed right now

6. There's still 11 games left, if Garrett's play calling stays this way, and the team doesn't give up, I see 8-10 more wins.

7. Costa looked great yesterday

-The OL looked good.

-The offense was moving very well until things appeared to get too complicated again and Romo was snapping the ball w/ one second on the clock. I think the simplification process in the bye week worked wonders for the team but they lost sight of that as the game went on.

-Finally Felix shows signs of life.

-Claiborne would've had a great game if he wasn't thrown down to the ground on the TD. Another good performance from the rookie.

-We finally put some points on the board to go along with yards.

That's all the positives I can think of though.

Yeah it was a loss, but hell, a lot of bright sides to this game.

1. One game

2. They are not superbowl contenders if they play like they did yesterday, although I am impressed at how the Cowboys played at their house.

3. One game against a horrible run defense

4. True, but we havent faced anyone THAT great yet, Giants obviously were not themselves Week 1.

5. They are some of Dallas's better players.

6. Winning 10 more games would mean we only lose 1 more the rest of the season. Not gonna happen. 8 wins would be great.

7. Indeed

This Ravens team allowed ~3 ypc before us and KC, no excuses.

Bucaneers put up 38 points or so against the Giants, again, no excuses.

Excellent post. Kevin Ogletree tore it up in the first game.. where has he been since then? He and Felix are fools gold until they prove otherwise. One game is one game.. lets see more going forward. Lets see consistency.

Too soon for this. At least for me. We lost and that's all that matters.

We were 2-3 last season and I was optimistic we could finish with 10 or 11 wins.

But we had played a little better in those 5 games than these. The level of competition than was high for the 1st 5 games with teams playing better than expected coming into the year. Much like this season with the Bears and Seahawks obviously being tougher than expected. Much like the Niners and Lions last year.

Last year we lost game 5 on the road to a SB contender, this year we lost to the Ravens.

Here's the two critical diffences as I see them. Last year we were in every game and could have or should have won them all. This year we've been beaten soundly twice.

Last year we had a very favorable upcoming schedule with 5 very winable games in 6. This year we have a very difficult upcoming schedule.

I'm hopeful we can get on a roll, just not certain of it.

I always have a pet peeve with this line of thinking. I acknowldge the fact that it could be true, but you really can't go there. Can't explain away the successes if your not willing to qualify the failings.

Either way, maybe the Giants were not themselves week 1 because we wouldn't let them.

Lots of reasons to be optimistic but "you are what you are".

And right now we're digging ourselves a hole that is going to be really difficult to get out of with our schedule ahead.

I buy stock in absolutely none of that.

Had we won it would've looked like the same chaotic garbage wrapped in a pretty pink bow.

A loss is a loss is a loss....That being said their are different kinds of losses; the ones that makes me angry the most are the ones in which collectively we don't show up as a unit and get roadgraded, they are tough to take, But when we show effort and fight and scratch and lose well it hurts that they didn't get the win but it is a little more easier to swallow and to see some of the positives that come out of such losses and build on those. That is all...

No, a win would have been huge. We shot ourselves in the foot, yes - but the refs were up against us all day. Overcoming that, especially Romo's final masterful drive, would have been huge. We fought so hard, that I think a win would have done wonders for us.

Unfortunately in situations like that a loss can lead to hopelessness in alot of cases like it did in Wade's final season. But hopefully we're not there yet.

A win would've been huge for the season but there was still so many sloppy mistakes that it would've been nothing but a short term deoderant.

We will never be a consistent team doing the stuff we do..

1. Yes but can Dez deliver? He obviously still can not consistently at all. That is a catch I expect a random college WR to make, much less our supposed star franchise WR. Unacceptable.

2. Legit Super Bowl contender? Well if they are, that defense better get better in a hurry. Teams can run all over them with ease.

3. Hopefully that is the case with our other RB being made of glass like he was known to be at OU.

4. I don't know really. I saw the Bears and Ravens just pass on us when they wanted to with ease and have wide open WR after wide open WR. Giants would have had a lot more big plays but they dropped tons of easy passes.

5. No real comment here. Don't think we are that much different with Spencer here or not.

6. Lot of ifs. And you are actually trusting Garrett and this team to finish the season with just 1 more loss? Wow.

7. Agreed.

Your boy Carr hasn't exactly been living up to his $50 million contract. Still have him rated as the 3rd best corner in the league?

Costa seems like a difference maker on the O-line. That's something to be optimistic about.

I think his supporters are limited to you, me, and a very small handful of others.

Lol, the lifestyle of the rich and famous still amounts to securities in numbers of lemings until they approach a cliff onto the ocean. :)

What does that have to do with the price of rice in Tokyo? As long as the defense performs as a top ten, game in and game out...who cares?
