Why in the world did we trade for Holland?

Procter completely sucks. They had to see something in those 2 practices with Denver that made them think he would be an asset to us.

I mean, you'd think if Rat and Tank were blowing him up in those practices then they wouldn't say " Boy that Holland fellow really sucks. Let's trade a fifth for him."

Holland not being able to sniff the field the way Procter is sucking just infuriates the hell out of me. I mean if he sucks so bad then why'd we trade for him?

I think they must have seen something about him they don't like, no other reason why you wouldn't play him seeing as how he actually has more starting experience than any of our backups.

I met Holland and Proctor when I went to Dallas this year. Holland has that o-linemen wide body. Proctor just isn't wide enough to play LG for us.

yeah he was brought in to back up Davis which has done pretty much nothing for us. We needed more help on the left side and we haven't found it.

I want the 2009 Draft to have a strong OL focus for the Cowboys.

I honestly don't care whether we move Gurode to LG and start someone else at Center, move Davis to LG and start Holland at RG, or get Kosier back.

Just solidify the OL.

Davis and Flo on the same side. I'm all for that.

Either they see something about Holland they don't like all of a sudden (what did they see they liked before that isn't there now?) OR they are being stubborn again (we've seen this all over field with few touches for Felix and Choice, slow installment of Roy Williams WR, Henry in there instead of younger/faster guys, etc).

It does take some time to get an offensive play book down, maybe Holland is a slow study.

But, he should be given a half of football game to see what he can do, and Seattle might be the right team to try against since they are probably the least nasty opponent we have left. The few snaps Holland was in there I didn't see any blatant whiffs, and we do see those with Procter.

Holland certainly doesn't look like he'd get pushed around out there, although he might have conditioning issues and no agility, I doubt he gets bullrushed into QB or turned like Procter does quite a bit.

We need to start giving these guys who back up Oline a snap or two here and there to see if they can play. Free, McQuistan, Berger, etc. Are they worth anything if we refuse to even put them in unless a player is basically crippled?

As for moving Gurode to guard, that didn't work too well before. He has played his best initially and now at Center, I don't want to jinx that. A decent backup Centre or Centre/guard in draft would be very wise though!

Amen, amen and AMEN!!!

Lets just hope we got the drafting of Peterson's and Jacob's out of our system.

Sometimes teams do not like to experiment during the season. Cowboys may be slow in making changes but I think they want to make sure the player knows what his assignments are at all times. Slowly young guys like Bennett have been playing and Jenkins and Scandrick have seen playing time in certain packages this past game Choice saw a bit more action and the more they produce the easier it is to give them playing time. One thing for sure this is not training camp where you have the luxury of seeing a player with nothing on the line. I don’t think our staff is stupid as some suggest I think these men know a hell of a lot more about this game than fans do

Screw it ! I'm headed to Dallas tonight and throwing my hat in the ring for RG . I may only be 160lbs. , but I'm wiry , have a tremondous concealed eye gouge , and a lazy eye that will screw even the most prudent defensive tackle's equilibrium up . Corey will be calling a Procterologist by the time I finish with him tonight ! Huummpphh !

This is what I meant, something has to be done, some kinda suffling of the deck. I have to HOPE he is better than Procter.....and if we can get him in the lineup some kinda way, that would be best.

Of course, I have to assume the staff already knows this, and if he was an upgrade they would find a way to get him in the lineup..........and since they haven't opened up a spot for him, guess that tells us all we need to know.

The only possibilities are that all of our backup offensive linemen are awful, and Proctor is the best of a bad lot, or the coaches are being stubborn and unwilling to change what they're already doing.

Frankly, I can't believe the other backups are as bad as Proctor after watching him repeatedly get pushed around. What good is knowing your assignment if you can't do it?

I think it's a joke that Proctor's out there. Sort of like Felix Jones not getting the ball when healthy. Or only running it 9 times in the first Washington game. Or trying to throw it to TO on every play. Or any passing play involving Tony Curtis when your alternatives were TO, Roy Williams, MBIII, Felix Jones, Jason Witten, Miles Austin, and Martellus Bennett.

The confidence I used to have in Garrett is pretty much shot.

Davis has played LT, RT, and RG in the NFL.

He is the guy I would bet could play LG. LG is a tougher position than many people realize. This is the position where stunts and pulls are going to be affected the most. My guess is that is the reason we do not want Holland at LG. He does not pull to the right well and we like running sweeps to the right.
