Why is it wrong to get excited over a win?

Why is it wrong? Why is it wrong to get excited over a win? Why is it wrong to celebrate and praise the good play of the players on our team. Why is it wrong to be happy when Dez starts playing like a beast? Why I ask? I want to talk about how good it felt to get a win tonight; to that I get, "Stop talking about the win we need to get ready for Cincy next week." What is this garbage? Last time I checked no one on this board plays for the Cowboys. No one on this board coaches for the Cowboys. And no one on this board works for the front office of the Cowboys. So, what is wrong with talking about the win? For 1 hour for one day for one whole damn week!!! We look ahead to the schedule and say this should be a win here that should be a win there we'll probably lose there and then "Stop looking ahead and focus on next week that's all that matters!" I'm sorry I didn't know what we did here affected the outcome of the games we have yet to play. We are fans, on a fan message board. What we do has no bearing on the outcome of the next game or the next season. So lay off the people that want to enjoy it for crying out loud. Do we offend you? Do we cause you to feel insecure? What does talking good about our team do to you that makes you people have to crap in every thread that comes up wanting to have a football conversation involving some form of positivity for the Cowboys? But oh you're a realist, uh...my bad be a realist and realize that you're doing nothing more than being a jerk. Not happy with the way the season turned out? Me neither, but name calling and attacking posters who are just trying to convey some positive energy is a very selfish and bigot thing to do. Let people enjoy the win, let people enjoy what they can out of this short season of football. Because lord knows, they're just as frustrated as you are at times. I get angry, I yell at the TV when we make a bad play. But that doesn't mean I come here and jump on the first person that has something positive to say about a WIN!

I was a long time reader here for awhile, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading what people had to say on this board. But it's gotten to the point where no one can say anything good anymore without 5 or 6 "realists" jumping down there throat calling them a blind homer. It's really gotten sad and I just don't know what to say anymore. I can only hope that the powers that be realize what is happening before it's too late.

Last thing, we're all fans of the same team guys; and I hope that you all remember that there really is someone sitting at the other end in front of a computer. And your words and actions can directly affect them.

The boys have just disapointed me too many times man.. i love wins, expecially vs the eagles but this team has too many flaws to get too happy.

There's nothing wrong. Don't let anyone tell you how to be a fan. Some want to be doom and gloom just to say "I told you so...". For some its easier to be doom and gloom then potentially get excited and be let down. Like I said, this team isn't out of it until they have 8 losses in that Loss column. Until then, i'm going to continue to be optimistic.

It's not. This board simply has a bunch of whiny and miserable human beings. We only get to see our Cowboys play 16 games a year. You best believe I'm gonna enjoy every win we get.

In case you haven't noticed, there are these things called "trolls" on the internet. They even make their way here. Enjoy the win. I'm loving it. :)

I'm happy for the win my friend. Enjoy it.

As a realist, all I can say is enjoy. Each one of these wins insure that no changes will be made and Jerry will feel justified in keeping things just the way they are.

If I'm going to be pissed after a loss (and believe me I get really pissed), I'm going to enjoy a win. We may lose the next 4 and finish 6-10, but I'm not going to anticipate it and be mad about it before it happens. When we win, I'm going to be happy.

FTFY

/Don't go cutting yourself after this win

'Realists' are just fans with unmet expectations. There are more of them when the team performs poorly for obvious reasons. And there are always some of them because there are always going to be people with unmet expectations.

There are more of them than normal right now because the team's underperformed and people thought we'd be fairly good this season. I try to hear the complaining as emotional venting, but, yeah, sometimes it's easier than others.

It rarely gets worse for me than it does to come by to hear all the complaining after a win this season. That's something I just don't get at all.

That didn't take long.

The same guy says in another thread he didn't have time to watch the game. He just came here to do his sniveling.

They have invested in their stance...and would rather see the team lose than for them to be wrong.

I agree. I get mad when we lose or do something stupid. I consider myself a realist, but that doesn't give me the right to put down another member just because he refuses to see things the way that I do. Some people try to see the good through all the bad that this team has given us and I say god bless em. Everyone has the right to their own opinion on what is happening to this team. Whether I agree with them or not, I will not blast them personally for it. Their opinion is a different story all together. You have yours and I have mine. This is supposed to be fun so don't take everything so seriously.

It's not wrong to get excited after a win. I love when they win.

That being said, I would rather see and be excited about a playoff/superbowl win (which I have only seen one time in my life) and not a regular season game win.

Winning reg season games and not making the playoffs is getting old, very old.

Because this game was going to tell fans how they match up with the better teams in the league. So the fact that the eagles had us beat until the fumble, there is nothing to feel confident about heading into Cincy.

You'd be happier as a Chiefs fan.

Not sure you were born before 88. All games tell something, no game tells all. I believe I have enough experience to diffentiate bad play from our team and good play from the opponent.

The eagles played well tonight and would have faired well against any team. Foles and that RB were excellent.

We were less than excellent on defense and I do believe the loss of both Lee and Carter will ultimately be our downfall on defense.

So I agree the chances of us winning the next 4 or even 3 out of 4 are poor. But I'll wait for the losses to actually come and hold out hope til then.

The term you're looking for isn't "realist".
