This is my take. If it was true, Ware should have just waited until he became a Cowboy or kept it to himself. He put Lewis in a very bad spot with those comments and I don't blame Lewis for denying it even though I believe Ware 100%. There's just no reason for Ware to make that up and go public with it.

Ray said it to Ware so it WOULD be retold. He wanted it told in order to influence contract talks and if it became a problem - he would just deny it.

Unfortunately, Ware just got used.
