Why is Jerry cheap on coaching

Enjoy yourself wherever you choose to go....find a team that doesn't lose or have any issues and get on their boards.....thanks for your 50 years....you saw a bunch of superbowls and saw them win 5....remember the memories.....see ya later
Not what I want to do. The man just does not learn.

I think its Stephen who is the miser as far as money is concerned.
But yeah with NGM its all about control and who gets the credit
He only got BP because BP needed the money and even then he started to butt in with bringing TO in.

Yeah I've read that statement. His mouth ruined everything.
Oh no it didn't.

Jimmy's culture actually did.

Because without it, Switzer never wins, and Jerry doesnt have the SB without Jimmy to prove he "knows" what hes doing.

Basically.

This is all Jimmy's fault for being too good at his job.

The answer been said over and over on this thread and many others…

Jerry Jones thinks he’s a roster-constructing genius and basically any professional head coach can win as a result, so why pay big money for a big-time coach? It doesn’t really matter in his frame of thinking. 30 years of this strategy blowing up in his face since he ran Jimmy off don’t deter the frog-faced dotard.

Stephen is cheap, as well. That’s a variable that can’t be discounted. It has some influence in the circus stew this franchise feeds us.

This isn't publicly disclosed so we don't know that it's true.

Maybe it is this year but I doubt the likes of Zimmer and Eberflus were making minimum coordinator salaries with their experience.

Jerry does not value good coaching. It has cost this franchise many times over the last 3 decades. His kids are next in line and they are all yes men. 50 years as a fan. I hate to say. Until the jones sell the team. I have to walk away. Opinions
Because he’s a greedy corporate big wig. It’s a mine’s bigger than yours world between the billionaires who are trying to out do each other.

Jerry is paying market value to the only coaches that would be willing to work for him.

As far as Jerry is concerned, they are regular employees. He would have them punch a timeclock if he could.

It's not like they are being paid to make the big decisions. They are being paid to train Jerry's team.

Jerry would even make the game time decisions if he could get away with it and there were times in the early 2000s where perhaps he did just that.

Jerry is a narcissist and wants to prove that he's The Football Guy, despite 30 years of evidence to the contrary. He feels humiliated that Jimmy got all the credit for building the 90s dynasty, and is dead set on proving that he was the real brains of the operation.

I firmly believe that at 84 years old and with more money than God, that ego and spite are the only things that still get Jerry out of bed in the morning. Frankly, I think that Jerry would prefer to die without seeing another NFC Championship, than to see the Dallas Cowboys win one while he stands aside and gets no credit.

No quality HC candidate is going to share control of his fate with a Johnny Walker addled owner, so Jerry only gets the castoffs that have no better options. Those weak coaches will allow him to manage his own team, and he likes it that way.

Jerry has always overestimated the talent-level on this team and thus truly believes that HIS collection of payers acquired via the draft, trades and FA signings are able to win games with inferior coaching. Sadly, Jerry has experienced a sufficient amount of success, using HIS metric, to justify his actions as GM.
I truly believe that the only way Dallas breaks this cycle is with a change in ownership; nobody in the Jones lineage will do the things required to initiate the needed change(s) to deviate from the status quo.

its cost control.
a really good coach, top of the line in NFL costs 2x to 3x. and they want at least 4 years. that's huge cost. and he is afraid with his meddling, it won't work and he is stuck with the cost.
further, they want to win, thus means spending money, FAs, etc.
further that also means giving up control, less air time, less selling opportunities

so it all leads to less profitability. winning is too expensive.
mediocrity is happy medium where fans are tuned and interested.
everyone talks about cowboys
cha ching.

Jerry knows why Switzer won that ring. He's been trying to prove for 30 years he can do it and cant.

Michael Caine's speech has absolutely nothing to do with Jerry Jones, but it does pretty much hit the mark about his mindset:

Jones is not a complicated person. He knows what he wants and does not give a <expletive> if what he wants makes sense or not. It is why some observers should not try rationalizing what he either does or does not do for the benefit of his team.
