Why are the refs so much better in the NCAA? I mean every game I watch they make alot of great calls and rarely miss penalties and what not.

The NFL officiating is brutal! And the thing is they get away with it time and time again...

The speed of college football <<< The speed of the NFL

It's a lot easier to make calls when every player on the field doesnt run sub 4.6 and players arent flying everywhere.

They are screwing up the game now...reviewing every game and messing with the clock, won't even let FSU run a play, what's up with that?

I went to the UT game on saturday and I would beg to differ... there were some awful calls... and the incessant reviews over nothing got tiresome.

I don't keep up with college ball anymore, I don't have 9 hours to spend watching one game

I've never been into college football. Sincerely, I dont know the rules n stuff cuz I know they vary a lot from Pro to College. Also take in consideration the pressure NFL has compared to colleges. plus wut was mentioned, speed etc.

I think NFL refs do a good job. Besides, I can't get over the reffing in that Texas Tech/OU game last year...

All NFL refs have to come from college level so they are the same guys that do the college stuff. Go check out what it takes to be an NFL ref.

This is interesting. Some of the worst refs I have ever seen reside in the college game.

It looks like Tags made the jump to the NCAA because they have now inputed several new, assinine rules that make no sense what-so ever.

Want to shorten the games? Then cut out 4 commercial breaks.

cant really agree college officiating is better, and the new clock rules mess with the game too much...coaches were right to be extremely upset with it...it makes absolutely ZERO sense to have the clock start running after a change in possession...

if they wanted to shorten the game, why not just get rid of the clock stopping on first downs and cutting down on the long halftimes?

as an aside, last nights game was putrid..2nd yr in a row that one of the great college rivalry games has been almost painful to watch...Miami and FSU are both insignifcant teams now

:hammer:

College officiating is very inconsistent. Whether that is game to game or conference to conference.

Everyone is right about the clock rule changes. Talk about something just thrown together with no foresight. A very silly rule. The easiest way to shorten the game was to change the play clock to the NFL system.

AGREED!

Man alive do we need a commerical break after a score, than after the kickoff after the score.

Geez.

One thing I do like about the NCAA over the NFL. Instant replay, these guys look at the tape and get right back out there and get the game going. NFL takes too long when reviewing the play.
