Why is Tank given a free pass?

Yes tank is our best run defender, and no he can't do it alone. But I'm sure he's in there on several plays where we're getting gashed!! Nobody on this defense should get any label. Honestly Tank makes one or two tackles for loss, and it's like that's the end you hear from him. If he's our best, take over, get in guys faces and make them accountable!!

Teams are running on the opposite of Lawrence. So when people talk about DT play and Lawrence and Micah….they are not the ones getting gashed it’s the left side of the field that teams just keep running all over.

I honestly don’t know. I’m not sure why this team can’t stop the run. No matter the personnel the results seem to be the same. It all started that year against the Rams.

At least I don't think Tank is telling them to do that over the coaches.

They are getting gashed on the opposite side not on Tank's side.

It’s pretty simple on a lot of runs.

Teams are simply putting a hat on a hat on the DEs and DTs and the LBs do not attack they react. So instead of crashing the hole and making the stop, we end up hoping LVE or Barr can make a play in which they do not.

Our ends seem to be very over aggressive when pursuing and end up over running the play.

Corners aren’t tackling well and the play of Kearse and Wilson has dropped significantly the last two weeks.

I dont believe tank is a great run defender. He to me is average at best. And a very medicore pass rusher.
I know PFF has him ranked high. But i have to question their way to rate him.

I watch him very closley because i know how he is positivly seen by some here.

Yes tank makes some tackles against the run. But if you watch those plays its often that he wasnt blocked at all. One on one against OTs he disapears on a regular basis. He only is able to make plays when he is blocked by TEs or RBs. Or when the run goes to the other side and his blocker isnt interessted into blocking him. He is a finess player that risks a lot to make a tackle in the backfield. If it pans out its a good play. But too often he gets sucked inside and give up the edge. He doesnt try to hold containment way too often.

He also makes a good play then disapears for nearly a two quaters. Or he doesnt show up for two or three games at all.

And imo he is a character cancer for our team. To much Hot Boizz (business man) than football player.

In his defense, nobody will consistently tackle Fields in the open field let alone a defensive end.
