Yes tank is our best run defender, and no he can't do it alone. But I'm sure he's in there on several plays where we're getting gashed!! Nobody on this defense should get any label. Honestly Tank makes one or two tackles for loss, and it's like that's the end you hear from him. If he's our best, take over, get in guys faces and make them accountable!!

Every defensive player loses at times. There are runs to Lawrence's side where they hit him with two blockers. There are runs to Lawrence's side where they purposely let him get upfield so they can use his momentum against him. Scheme sometimes causes bad run fits for players because of what they are asked to do on a specific play. It isn't as easy as saying, the offense ran the ball to that defender's side so he's to blame for any success. You have to look at the whole picture of what the offense and defense was doing on any given play. Sometimes your role is to blow up the play and sometimes its to hold your ground so someone else can fill and blow up the play.
It isn't as easy as see ball get ball because simplified gets taken advantage of by offenses. Just look at the Marinelli scheme. He believed in keeping it simple so players knew what to do and could just execute the scheme. He valued sound over complex. What offenses saw was predictability. Quinn uses a lot of movement to make his defense unpredictable, but that also means that if the offense has the right play-call, it can take advantage of that.
For example, if Lawrence is looping/stunting to the inside on second-and-6, like we often do to get pressure in Quinn's scheme and the offense runs to his side, the offense can pin the DL to the inside, pull a guard around to kick out one linebacker, have the RT pin the other and you have a funnel for the back. Quinn has been able to send bodies at the offensive line in multiple ways to keep quarterbacks uncomfortable, but the sacrifice is if teams run when you are doing that, they can catch you in some bad positions to defend the run.
