Why is the bar seemingly being lowered?

Why is the conman still here??? Did Booger not say two (2) years ago that there has to be more post season success??? Why isn’t the media pressing him on that comment he made??? Now we have the students who want to continue jacking around and goofing off with zero sense of urgency, telling the principal how great the teacher is. Booger is now the fraud if he doesn’t do the right thing…he has become the Dave Robert’s of football…if there is a button to push, he will push the wrong one. I have a REAL bad feeling about this…if the conman stays, why should we ever buy again that his being visually upset act means anything at all…again, what happened to the “must have post season success” mandate he himself threw down after the first SF playoff loss? If the conman stays, it tells me it’s 100% that he takes being Regular Season relevant over any possible downward learning curves. They treat Dork like he is a rookie, yet we have rookie QB’s and 1st year starters moving on to the divisional round. This all just maddening as hell….I know, I know…”We like our girls.”

About all I can come up with for those McCheese groupies here is "he's better than Garrett and his 3 consecutive regular seasons record."

That's what we have lowered ourself too now.
That regular season relevance hyped team.

Nothing else. I mean absolutely every other detail of your OP I wonder the exact same questions as you have.

Spot on post brother.

Jerry is also going to break the bank on a QB who's only claim to fame is his ability to pile up stats against bad teams. And his fan club will rejoice - hurray for Dak and to hell with the rest of the team.

But whatev's. I really don't give a damn any more. The all powerful owner waiting until after the team just got their arses handed to them to express his sense of urgency for winning is so laughable.

You think the bar is lowered. I think the issue for last 30 years is Dallas has been overrated. Our team is mediocre. The so called great 2007 team that flamed out against the Giants was average defensively and got exposed. The 2014 team was bad defensively and would have lost even if the Dez catch counted. 2016 the Cowboys was a great story because of rookie seasons from Dak and Zeke but people seem to forget they were still expected to finish last with Romo at quarterback. Jerry finds a player like Romo, Dak, Parsons, TO, Ware, CeeDee, ect that he can market then the Cowboys train begins to roll. The Joneses have figured out how to have a team that can marketed all season including the the playoffs but their failure to make the hard decisions or to hurt a few feelings keeps the Cowboys from being great.

I am serious about the no extensions. Not for Dak, CeeDee, or Parsons. If they get upset. Trade their azzes. Open competition at quarterback. Dak will probably outperform Lance but give the kid a chance to play with the first stringers. Jerry has to shake up the front office. Hire someone that makes him and Stephen nervous about coming to work. We have skill players. It’s time to bring in trench players through the draft and free agency for both sides of the ball.

problem is that as long as Jerry is the owner he will never be nervous.

There never will be anything he HAS to do unless he wants to
hiring BP was as has been made clear a desperation act to get a new stadium by making the team RELEVENT
NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
JJ only wants a Championship if HE takes most of the credit

I see no signs that Stephan is any better; would not surprise me when JJ kicks off Stephan makes himself GM for life as well

I personally dont know what there is to celebrate about the shallacking we took at the hands of the packers but conversally I also dont know what there is to critisize about fans who are not SB or bust fans. The season is over and it didnt end the way i wanted it to but Im not gonna be doom and gloom woe is me the cowboys suck arse.

They are my team and have been for a long time and just because it didnt work out well in the post season there was alot of good that happened in the regular season and there is nothing wrong with celebrating that. And while thats not the goal it still something to be proud of and I personally am not gonna pout all off season. Some of you act like you are the ones out there putting in the work and the sweat and the effort week in and week out and frankly you are just chair jockeys like the rest of us and are no better or no worse fans.

the organization needs to take a hard look at their direction and how they want to proceed. Their are multiplespots on the team that they need to take a hard look at. The coach,The coordinator, the QB, The entire defense most notably the dang GM as thats the spot that is the biggest concern.

Just simply running it back is not good enough but regardless of what direction they head Ill be supporting them on Sunday's. Ill also be numb to the results as i have been since 2011 but ill still grasp on to any slivers of hope that may come my way.

Im just not built to pout and whine about all season and off season as there is many more things in life that are important. This is just entertainment

Did you miss this little story a long time ago? You should know this is the truth.

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/cow...or-bust-despite-makeup-of-2023-roster.513427/

"How we are as a team as we evolve through this season, all of that we'll weigh. We could very easily have a team that doesn't hold the trophy up but be dramatically better than one that if you cleaned house. So we'll let that set of facts, [let] that play during this '23 year be the influencing things when we get to '24. You ask me, 'Is winning the Super Bowl imperative without blowing this team up?' And I say, no, it is not."

Jerry loves the idea of having the most expensive player in the NFL.

It's something he can brag about.

Like a yacht or an island.

This is the new Jerry Jones. An owner so afraid of rebuilding he'll stick with a coach in training for a decade and still had him in their back pocket had the coaching interviews not gone well.
He hangs onto players far too long as well.

Instead of firing coaches/players that show their peak, he'll ride them out cause of their ability to make the playoffs and ignore the fact the team ***** the bed in the postseason.

That’s exactly what he’s doing. Actually he’s really trying to call him out and derail yet another topic I guess because he’s bored….Rambo is not to blame for this debacle….
Technically, it's all of us who still buy merch. Who still go to games. Who still lob Jerry softballs at him when we interview him. Jerry's too comfortable. If Jerry owned the Eagles, I could see billboards all over town and people storming the Ranch and throwing poooo at the windows.
