Why is the offense so predictable?

Just watching all these other offenses. I see almost the entirely league utilizing pre-snap movement, screens, misdirection, and play action. Seems 95% of Dallas offense going back the last 5 years is extremely basic and predictable. Line up, maybe 1/5 plays a WR will move in motion but it’s very basic movement. We very rarely utilize play action and screen plays are almost non-existent. Rarely see misdirection plays either. I wonder how much better the offense could be if they utilized these things so many other teams are using.

Whenever we find something that works we quickly abandon it.

Some games the offense plays lights out with movement, misdirection, and etc. Put up huge numbers and next game were back to the same old stale predictable offense from 20 years ago.

No huddle / hurry up offense working like a dream and putting up points? No worries were just abandon it for ***** and giggles

its why i'd love to see McCarthy do what he loves to do...call plays.
ive wanted to be impressed by kellen moore...im just not.
i want him to be successful...but if im being honest...i don't get it.
he seems not ready for prime time.
hope im proven wrong.

since Dak has been here.....why do we NOT stay in no huddle/hurry up?
why do we NOT start games with it?
he works it well....why not open the game with it....or the 2nd half with it.
i'll never understand it.
also.
he is exceptional on play-action.
he has a beautiful play-fake...why do we only see it a few times?

And when did Dak not become a mobile quarterback? He never extends plays anymore unless its a dire situation.

Is it the coaching or is he scared to get injured before his contract?

Since AT&T stadium will have fans in it, I say we get someone going to the game to go down there, jump Kellen, grab the headset, and utilize all the surprise/good playcalls and go from there. We'll need a volunteer at every game. We won't be able to do it when we're away though...

maybe the players are dumb and can not handle multiple things at once so it has to be very basic. Mike Fisher mentioned this yesterday that this was an issue for the wr a year ago. He was arguing with broaddus about it on the postgame show.

Scared to get injured? Did you see last night's game? He went head first at least twice. Once trying to score. The other on a 3rd and long where he got 4th and inches. Re-watch the game. Or were these "dire" situations? Cmon, this is ridiculous.

Because we still have remnants of the Jason Garrett era. Kellen Moore
Garrett was going no huddle after every positive play tonight. I’m guessing they had to slow down last year for Kellen to catch up to speed of the game and Linehan hates new concepts the years before that

MM will eventually take over the playcalling if Moore doesn't get it together by game 8.

It's mostly the same offense Dallas ran in the 90s - no bunch formations, no rub routes, just line up and beat your man.

Put Dak under center and add Moose and it's exactly the 90s offense. The rules have changed since then, but we don't utilize them.

Why why why does Dak insist on staying in the pocket? This line is porous.

Every offense is predictable. Rams didn't catch us unaware, we just couldn't stop what they were doing. Problem is most fans of a team watch and know all of that teams plays so to us we know what will be run in a given alignment. By week 3 there is no secret what teams try to do offensively.

What is your definition of extending plays?

Remember last year? The first 3 games the Cowboys offense did mix it up as you suggest and they kicked the hell out of their opponents, though their opponents all sucked, they still mixed it up. Then all of a sudden, back to Vanillaville. People were speculating that Garrett reigned Moore in. At any-rate the Cowboys were back to 8-8 form.

Mack and Moore need to get busy being creative with that offense. Like this week.
