I'm not going to pretend like all is well and good..Heck, I'm not even going to pretend like things will ever get better (at least for 2010 that is), but my question to all of you guys is, why is the season over? What happens if we beat the Giants next week? Wouldn't we be right back in the race for the division?

Cause they don't let 6-10 teams join in the playoff games. Sorta like Rudolph and the Reindeer Games. Wade Phillips is our red nose. However, Rudolph's nose is brighter.

Beat the Giants...

The team that has seen this song and dance before, by beating Dallas in a playoff game and last year in Dallas.

I'm taking the Cowboys to win the total yards and total yards allowed stats.

The Giants will wait for the picks, penalties, and bumbling special teams play and win the game...

Is this a touch of hostilities delusion syrup?

Do you think this team can go 7-4 the rest of the way to just get to 8-8. You think this trainwreck can do that?

We won't beat the Giants mainly because the matchup is horrendous based on their DL vs. the Cowboys OL, and Manning's 3 receivers drawing 6-7 PIs against the secondary. But I'll play along.

The season's not over and beating the Giants would lead to optimism but this sad sack outfit would probably turn that goodwill into an improbable home loss to JAX the following week.

Truth is, this group through 5 games has not shown the smarts, the focus, or the guts to display any type of consistency and string wins together.

It's going to be a hard road to the playoffs for this team. 0-3 in the conference is going to be hard to overcome for any tie-breakers for a wild card spot. They would almost have to win the division to qualify for the playoffs, in order to do that, well, we most likely will need some help.

at least we're a half game ahead of last place in the conference

It isn't over and if any "fan" says that it is well then they must not relize there still football to be played.

Do your parents know you're still up? Do I have to drive 60 miles to Nashville to beat some sense into you? :)

Because this team isn't going to the playoffs.
Oh, sure, they're still mathematically in the hunt....but they're not going. Call it a hunch.

Dallas is going to win 8 of their last 11?

No way now how. We know they are going to play sloppy ball.

They've been sloppy all preseason.

We'd be 2-4 and still in last place in the second worst division in football

Oh, and Wade would still be our head coach

The season's over dude. Don't keep doing this to yourself. Remember the mindset during the Campo years? Get back to that, much less painful that way.

I will concede that making the plaoffs via the wildcard will be extremely difficult..but winning the division is still realistic..at least mathematically speaking..

Craig
remember when everyone was making fun of Singletary in San Fran? We're a half game ahead of them but they still have their bye week to catch up.

The funny thing is this team will eventually get hot IMO, but the hole will be too big to dig out of. 8-8 is what I see unfortunately.

I guess we play the same role the Saints played in 2007, the Chargers played in 2008 ( un fortunately we don't play in a horrible division) and the Titans played in 2009.

we would be 2-4 and they would be 4-3...what's the big deal? is the Giants season over if they lose to us next week?
