Why Isn't Mike Jenkins Playing?

I'm sure most of us have noticed MJ not getting that much playing time, Why?? Is his shoulder hurting bad enough to keep him on the sidelines or is the team protecting him in order to have him available at the trade deadline? I don't know what the team would do if one of the CBs went down, for a prolonged time, and MJ wasn't available. Your thoughts.

Carolina is primarily a running team, so why risk getting him injured? He is too vital to our hopes against passing teams like this week.

Yeah, that's what I read too.

They rested him against a less-prolific passing team, giving his shoulder more time to heal.

I was thinking there might be a trade in the works but it appears to not be the case.

I would definitely expect to see more of him against the Giants.

Carolina actually passes the ball at a higher rate than even New England.

Carolina's run-pass ratio is 1.95:1 while New England's is 1.92:1

Carolina simply has an ineffective offense and no depth at WR. If he needed a week off this was the week to get it.

Not really buying that excuse about Carolina running. Maybe to protect the shoulder though.

1) What, Carolina wasn't in any 3rd and long known passing situations?
2) Neither Carr or Claiborne was particularly having a good game. Both were beaten often, it seemed to me. Even on the INT, Claiborne was beaten badly and only saved by pressure forcing a grossly underthrown pass. Did Carr even have a pass defensed? Maybe, can't recall.
3) It wouldn't have been wise to give Carr or Claiborne some rest during the game to keep them fresh?

Anyway, it turned out to be an OK decision since the Cowboys got the win.
