Why isn't the media freaking out over the Eagles QB situation?

The Rams are so pumped to get Foles they are now looking to give him a new long-term deal.
Yeah, let them put that in 3 inch headlines in the Philly Inquirer:lmao:
... since they got so much to say.

The Eagles also lost their #1 receiver. 10 touchdowns is nothing to sneeze at...Smiles Austin and a rookie might replace the production, but I doubt it.

It's a big deal for sure.

Just for reference

Maclin: 85 catches, 1318 yards, 15.5 ypc, 10 TDs
Bryant: 88 catches, 1320 yards, 15.0 ypc, 16 TDs

And he played with a much worse QB.
Losing Maclin should hurt some.

Because they're in the northeast.

That is entirely untrue. While there is plenty of Northeast bias to go around, it does not bleed into Philly. That city and it's teams are the unwanted stepchild of the northeast. This opinion of Philly is probably the main cause of their lovely attitude in general. Kind of a younger brother syndrome.

I know this is for another thread, but this is a great reference..

And how much is Bryant wanting?! and now he and his agent I talking hold out...geez. C'mon on Dez, your a better person than that..

just FYI..Jeremy Maclin signed a 5 year, $55,000,000 contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a $12,000,000 signing bonus, $22,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $11,000,000. In 2015, Maclin will earn a base salary of $750,000, a signing bonus of $12,000,000 and a workout bonus of $250,000. Maclin has a cap hit of $3,400,000 while his dead money value is $22,500,000

Actually surprised they're rushing to give him a new deal without any games with them.

Their standards are not too high. They are just happy to have a QB that has a pulse. I actually liked Foles when he was drafted. He is solid and would have been a good backup to Romo.

Media thinks Eagles will win East - they upgraded offense and defense. Bradford being healthy is key for them

How did they upgrade offense? Their running backs may have upgraded but downgrade on the OL and WR...you can argue they downgraded QB as well.

The Rams will probably challenge for a playoff spot.
Loaded on defense and pretty solid everywhere else.

There OL leaves a lot to be desired---that could really hold them back.

On topic---Jeremy Maclin leaving in free agency is probably the most ignored topic I have seen from the media. If another team lost their top target without any real experience to pick up the slack---the media would rip them but it's okay because Chip Kelly is a "genius".

How many "I believe in Chip" articles have there been since the "roster churning" started this offseason in Philly? Dallas loses one guy who was a big question mark at the beginning of the 2014 season and it's the end of the world despite all the talent added elsewhere.

You're right. Bradford is awesome WHEN healthy but after his second injury to the same knee it is just a matter of time before he gets hit and can't get back up. Even if he does stand tough against the hits. One can only assume his mobility is going to wear down throughout the season. Sanchez didn't do too bad at all last year. But that was with Jeremy Maclin taking the tops off defenses. I think if you're going to rank the Cowboys low because of their lack of top Rb's than the same should be said for the Eagles lack of a top/healthy Qb

Yah, its pretty mystifying to me how they always rank ahead of us.

It is mostly just to get clicks. The Eagles have had some exciting offenses over the past decade which has led to them getting some national love. The media loves to bash us just because it is an easy selling point(cheap journalism though considering our improvements of a 12-4 team).
