Why it would be dumb to take Felix Jones at #22

  1. [*]Pittsburgh - Quentin Groves, DE/OLB, Auburn
Groves could potentially be a steal this late. His ability to get to the passer is among the elite in the draft and would be a big boost to the Steeler front seven.

[*]Tennessee - Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina
A WR for Vince Young would make a lot of sense but the Titans aim for one of the most physically imposing DT duos in the league, pairing Balmer with Haynseworth.
[*]Seattle - James Hardy, WR, Indiana
Trading down would be the favorite scenario for the Seahawks, but not in this scenario. With no DT, OL, or TE worthy of the selection, the Seahawks grab the huge receiver from Indiana.
[*]Jacksonville - Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson
Once thought of as a high first rounder, Merling has come back down to earth and landed in an area much more deserving of his talent.
[*]San Diego - Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
The Chargers may be looking to fill a need moreso than other teams at this point because they do not select again until the fifth round. Cherilus would be a nice fit at right tackle for the Bolts.

Got this from footballs future mock, not that I feel these teams will pick these players, but why take Felix Jones at #22 when the teams that pick between our two picks really don't have a need for Felix Jones?
IF we like Jones, I'd have to wait till #28 to pick him and trade down from #22 to get more value if indeed Jones is the guy we want, we'd get more picks by trading the #22 then the #28 anyway in a trade down.

Steelers have their Speed back, so they're not taking Felix, I can't picture Tennessee taking a R.B. with their pick, Seattle just signed a Felix Jones type speed back in JULIUS Jones, so no way Felix is on their radar, Jaguars have Fred Taylor and MJD, and the Chargers havew only ONE PICK in the 1st 4 rounds and have the best R.B. in the NFL, so they aint' using it on a R.B.!

So, if we did want Jones, it would be STUPID to use our #22 pick on him since if he's on the board at #22 he should in all likelyhood still be there at #28 ESPECIALLY if BOTH Stewart and Jones are there, one should DEFINATELY be there at #28.

So if we take Jones at #22 I will be FUMING, not that I dont' like Jones, I do, I think he could be better pro than DMAC, but just not at #22 since he will be there at #28 and we could use #22 to trade down instead of picking Jones at #22 and trading dwon tiwht #28, we'd get a lot better picks by trading the #22 if indeed we have our eyes set on Felix Jones.

I PRAY TO GOD we trade our #22 for W.R. Roy Williams and then take Felix Jones at #28 and then draft all defense with the rest of our picks with one O-lineman thrown in!

Heck, just give me Roy Williams and I honestly could care less who we pick int he draft since he'd put us over the hump anyway!
