Why Jerry Will Choose Dak

I'll give you 3 reasons why Jerry will eventually come down on the side of continuing our run with Dak:

1) Jerry is getting old and would probably like to experience a Super Bowl victory at least one more time in his lifetime. The way this team is playing, why do anything to disrupt that?

2) If Dak and Elliot continue playing at the current level throughout the entire season, both in contention for MVP and Rookie of the Year, etc...then who gets to bask in some of the glory of possibly having the greatest draft in NFL history??? (and as far as Jerry is concerned, this might be the most important of these 3 reasons)

3) I think Jerry respects the opinions of Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman and Jimmy Johnson who are all coming down on the 'keep Dak in' side.

If you think this is Garrett's decision, you are fooling yourself - there is way too much at stake financially and organizationally here.

Jerry and Jason both love Tony. It will be hard to move on and they still may not but all Dak has to do is just keep winning.

#1 is the main reason you go back to #9. Jerry doesn't care one iota about #2 or #3.
Right.... #9 has brought you 2 playoff victories in the last 10 years without even an NFC championship game, let alone the Super Bowl. And you're fooling yourself if you think Jerry doesn't care about reason #2.

I don't think it's fair to lay all of that on Romo, but I've said more than once in the last 24 hours that I don't see how you can bench Dak now.

You don't disrupt what this team is doing until it changes. Roll with it.

Another "QB winz" person... time to stop reading.

But I'll leave you by asking how many rookies have "won" the Super Bowl... here's a hint, it's a nice round number.
Tom Brady spent his rookie year on the bench (actually, he got to throw 3 passes that year) and the following year when he got to play, he won the Super Bowl. The Patriots deciding to move on from Bledsoe (even after he recovered from injury) turned out to be a fairly decent move on their part.

Gee, I've never heard this story before.

He wasn't a rookie though. He'd been through two training camps and had 18 months of experience in learning the offense. The Patriots were 5-13 with Bledsoe the previous two years so let's not pretend it was the same kind of decision. And please stop comparing Dak to Tom Brady... sheesh.

I see them staying with Dak at the very least vs the eagles and maybe beyond if they keep rolling.

They now have a 5 game win streak...which is great.
You'd think it's a been a long time since we had that but they had a both a 5 game and 6 game win streak as recently as 2014.
Last year was the outlier with this team and run game, now that both Dak and Zeke are in the fold.

p.s. - If you haven't heard, yesterday Dak broke Brady's NFL record for initial pass attempts without an INT, but let's not compare Dak to Brady....sheesh.

Let's remind ourselves about the last game Romo played last year (against the Panthers):

He had three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns, and had completed just 11 of 21 passes for 106 yards before he exited. The Cowboys were down 30-6 when Romo left and ended up losing, 33-14.

Let's face it, the Fall of the Romo Empire had already started prior to the arrival of the new barbarians

You mean that last game when he was still hurt, and really had no business playing?

You folks need to just stop talking about what happened last year. Tony Romo was injured and the only reason he played was because the Cowboys were desperate. When he's ready to play, the Romo you'll get closer to the Romo of 2014, not 2015.

Basing expectations on 2015 is ridiculous. Stop embarrassing yourselves.

Just as embarrassing on basing your expectations on 2014

I agree Jerry still believes Romo provides his best opportunity and wants to prove he's a football guy like Jimmy and others .

But for the moment he's afraid to go against the Dak wave and his public support.

Give it time . They are waiting for the right moment to bring him back which I'm completely confident he will.

Jerry will pick Romo because everyone is telling him to pick Dak. He just can't help himself. He wants to be able to tell everyone tht he was right.

Really? You think a healthy Romo will play like he did in 2015, when he was injured? Or more likely, his play will be closer to 2014, when he was healthy? I choose the latter - it makes much more sense.

If some people insist upon using 2015 as the barometer, they should at the very least make it an objective comparison. Compare Romo's stat line the two games he was healthy and disregard the Miami and Carolina games. It's much more likely jelly we see THAT Romo than the one we saw against Carolina.

That's not fair, Romo had to throw to Devin Street (that's 1 turnover right there).
