Why Micah is a concern

Contenders know better than give up draft assets for a very expensive edge rusher. That’s the difference between teams that know what they’re doing and those that struggle to figure out how to genuinely compete for a Super Bowl. Few teams need defensive line help more than the Dallas Cowboys and they haven’t extended Parsons. And they don’t have to give up anything assets to acquire him.

Not many teams are in a position to add that kind of compensation to their roster. Fewer can afford to give up draft assets to acquire a single player. Contenders are just that because they already have expensive talent.
We’ve been through all this. The Bears gave up a haul for Khalil Mack a few years ago. We haven’t extended him yet because of what we paid for Dak and CeeDee. We have a ton of our cap on two players. Not many teams have put that kind of money on two players and are considering paying a third player that kind of money.

So you say you dont see it on game day?

No offense but you dont watch him enough then. He does 2 to max. 3 plays and then checks out for the next 5 because he is so gased. If used like a starter and not like a rotational guy usually after 30 minutes he is done.

over the course of the season you can literally watch his decline after week 6 or 7.

the reason for that is lack of endurance and lack of knowledge of how to approach the game. the guy has to go full speed on every down. He doesnt know how to be a force by using only 80% of his power and speed. And as i already wrote there is not a small sign of development in that area.

That is also the reason why he disapears in the playoffs. Usually great players dont need to play 100% during the regular season to get great results. The play at 60 or 70%. When playoffs come that is one reason why you see great players being able to Dominator. They just have enough resources left.

In comparison DFlaw was on the other end of the extreme. The guy was very smart. He did exactly nothing for 3 drives. Then put everything he had in 2 run stops. Everybody celebrated him while he sat on the bench enjoying the spotlight.

Dint misunderstand me. Parsons is a very good player who just lacks the brain to be great. I like him. Just not for the contract he will demand. Trade him. There will be a team that will offer a great value in picks for him.
Wait what?

Are you saying great players only play at 60-70% effort for more plays and that is somehow better than a player giving 100% effort every play he can, then taking a breather?

Seven years ago, the Bears have still not recovered from that regrettable trade. As compensation for QBs, WRs, and now pass rushers reach $40 million and higher (QBs) draft picks become more critical than ever before.

The Cowboys know what they’re paying Dak and CeeDee. Parsons isn’t signed, and isn’t traded. The draft is in four weeks.

Well, if I'm insane, then there are actual NFL players saying, trade the fool. You can take little Micah where ever you want to go.

Your little dig at the end tells me all I need to know about you.

Oh, just talked to cousin Steven, he agrees with me, get rid of the fool.

Again, the people who say trade him are the same people who will trust Jerry and sons to do anything productive with the compensation.

You have to remember when they got the King’s ransom for Herschel Walker years ago Jimmy Johnson was in charge of personnel, not the buffoon Jerry.

Hopefully what it tells you about me is that some of us still have common sense. Although it’s very unlikely that you’d be able to comprehend that.

What’s all the “fool” talk. Who are you Mr. T…. Ahhhhhh, that actually tells us all we need to know. The whole Zone .

Today, those "King's Ransom" trades are damn near impossible to pull off due to the salary cap.

The Bears went from 5-11 in 2017 to 12-4 in 2018 with Mack who had 12.5 sacks his first season in Chicago. The trade was paying off for the Bears but they started falling off after that season because Mitch Trubisky began flaming out. Their biggest problem for the Bears has been wasting high draft picks on QBs that keep flaming out. We’re not going to agree on this topic so no point continuing.
