I live in DC. I attended the Cowboys-Colts game years ago when we ended their unbeated run and Texas Stadium seemed to be a real advantage for us. What are fans not doing or what can they do for the Cowboys to have a real Home field edge?

Fans can't play the game for them. Fans in my view is not the reason we failed at home poor execution and dumb mistakes cost them.

The fans get loud for the offense and quiet for the D.

This is my view: (sorry, I am repeating myself)

1. The new stadium is HUGE. While the top is closed most of the time, noise gets lost in there quickly.

2. Seats too expensive for the average Cowboy Fan. All the "club seats" (15,000) are REDICULOUSLY expensive. Therefore, they get filled up with rich people who are there because they're rich, or people who get the tickets for free from there work or something. They aren't going to get loud and rowdy, and def. don't know WHEN to get loud. At the Commanders game, for example, there were like 4 businessmen behind me NOT EVEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GAME. They were just talking. What kind of crap is that? At other games, I had to yell at people in my section to stand up and get loud on 3rd down. That should be automatic!

3. There is TOO MUCH going on during a game. They are constantly playing stuff on the big screen, so fans are paying more attention to that than being loud and actively participating. ...and stupid stuff too, like Olshansky speaking russian. Who cares? They also have drummers, dancers, pole-dancers, etc. There is TOO MUCH focus being taken AWAY from the game with all the extra stimuli.

Maybe if the players executed better the fans would pay closer attention. :D

I don't see anything wrong with the building I do however see problems with guys playing poorly.

The Stadium is great. The fans have been great. I've heard from multiple people that the game experience is great.

They went 7-2 at home last year and 5-4 on the road. This year they went 2-6 at home and 4-4 on the road. However, 4 of those home losses came under Wade Phillips, who also went 1-3 on the road.

I don't get where this is coming from at all.

I don't go to other teams stadiums but when I go to Dallas games I really do think there are too many bells and whistles (distractions).

There is no excuse for our home record this year but that is something we HAVE to clean up next year.

Have you been to any games? I've been to 7 Cowboys games at the new stadium. I went to all the home division games this year.

I've been to 2 college games there, and they are 100X LOUDER than any Cowboy game i've been to.

Even Texas stadium was not known for being loud. Cowboy crowds do not compare to the crowds of:

Steelers
Packers
Chiefs

and a few others

Been to many Cowboys games both at Texas Stadium and the new stadium and fans act the same way at both. I agree Cowboy fans for what ever reason are not as vocal as others but that has been a claim made for years. In the end winning is about executing, as Jimmy Johnson said the better team will win even if you play in the parking lot Cowboys losing at home this year had nothing to do with the building it had everything to do with poor play.

Seahawks last night was OUTRAGEOUS.

I didn't post this because I think our lack of a HFA is a cause for losing. However, it would be nice for it to be hard on our opponents when they come to our house. Even the term "our house" seems flimsy when talking about the Cowboys at home. Lambeau, Heinz, Seattle's, Arrowhead (if it's still called that) are all really tough places to play. I want ours to be as well. I love my team and badly want to have a community that is rabid including at home games.

chiefs had 20,000 empty seats for their final two home games last year.

Please do not ever compare chiefs fans to us again, thanks.

We dont have an empty stadium. When we do get back to me.

I agree. I have never left a Cowboy game with my voice still intact and I wish more fans would get loud but it was the same deal at Texas Stadium. If the team is making plays the fans get loud if not they sit on their hands.

Wasn't there something about telling the fans to make noise, like we couldn't do it? That's why Brooking would "remind" fans to make noise. But during Sunday's game, I saw several times the Eagles jumbotron telling the fans to "Make Some Noise". If they are allowed to do that, you'd think a 60 yard jumbotron would get the point across.

It does and that was last year.

new rule for this year, stadiums can encourage noise last year they couldnt.

and it works in the stadium.

Still pretty sad when you need a player or video board to tell fans what they should do. 2 pretty simple things to remember at a home game, 1 when we have the ball shut up and 2 when they have the ball get loud. It is pretty easy even a kid can figure it out :D

part of the reason is not as loud as it could be is because there are alot of kids their with their parents who do nothing but cheer for the quarterback and get food and drinks constantly.

This area must lead the league in that category. MOst of those people do not even know anything about the game except the qb and who his girlfriend is.

They buy enough tickets to offset all the people that make noise and are into the game.

I guess. My 1st Cowboys game was at the Cotton Bowl and I cheered with a passion for my team and all these year later I still cheer for my boys with a passion. A football fan should not have to be told to cheer you do it because you love your team and the game

well yea, that is what I was trying to say, they are not football fans. They are people out for entertainment. MOst of these families who just sit there view the game on sunday like most view going to the movies.

Its just something to do. They only know the qb.

There is alot of that here, just like the ballpark. Lots and lots of it.

so those messages on the screens are not directed at guys like me and you, we know the deal. Sadly there are many in our stadium and in other stadiums who simply dont.
