Why no interest in Josh Jones, apparently?

What am I missing? No visit or any mentions. Does he not meet one of their mysterious measurement requirements?

It's almost inevitable we are going to draft someone in the 1st 3 rounds that didn't come in for a visit. I think people go too overboard with thinking we only draft guys we brought in. Don't believe Jaylon or Collins had visits last year. 1st round? Yeah sure, it's most likely going to be someone that had a visit. But after that all bets are off.

Have they met with him at all? The visits aren't the only way to be picked here, but they usually meet with them in other ways, whether it's workouts, combine visits, pro days, senior bowl, etc.

I prefer Marcus Williams if we're going safety in round 2. Both are SPARQ freaks, but Williams has superior instincts and ball skills.

For all we know we had scouts at most of his games...like I said, I wouldn't read too much into it and start eliminating every player we didn't have a meeting with. Our board is going to have a whole lot more than the 45-50 guys the media reported that the team met with.

Zeke and Dak were the only two picks from the 2016 class to come in for official visits. The other picks were nothing more than pro days, combine, bowl games, etc... I think the pre-draft visit deal is a little over blown.

I really like him but the only way we take him is if we don't take a cb round 1. I don't see us taking cb then safety back to back. If we take a DE round 1 then I could see us taking Williams. He's a future pro bowler in my eyes.

I think you are getting too hung up of what position is being taken where. I think we will go BPA and if so it really doesn't matter that much if we draft two secondary players back to back. Just get really good players.

I just know that Dallas has an ear to the media. Or I should say Jerry does. I don't think he'll support two secondary players with the season ending on the premise that the dline failed us.

It may play out as you say but I do not think the Cowboys would be a bit concerned about taking DBs back to back in this draft. In fact unless the pick at 28 of a DE is a reach for need it is quite possible that happens based on grading.

I really think the Cowboys are starting to draft a more pure BPA recently and it is working well. I hope they stick to it.

I think with the injuries guys suffered and the reports already showing guys jumping up due to that, I don't expect many CBs being available at 28 that would be worth the pick to begin with. The only one I realistically see them taking is King. I know you're high on Jackson, but I don't believe they are taking him at 28. If King is gone maybe they take Obi(which would take any safeties they had in the 2nd out anyways), but my best guess right now points towards a DE like Takk, Harris or Taco in the first which leaves the 2nd open for a Safety or CB. If the do indeed take King, I think they try their hardest to get in position to draft a guy like Basham, Rivers or Willis in the 2nd, but if that doesn't come to fruition I could definitely see a Safety at 60 if the value at DE is already be wiped out.

I know people would be pissed at King and Williams/Jones/King in the first two rounds, but that very well could be how the board lines up.

I honestly think the legit first round CB's are gonna be gone by our pick. Lattimore, Humphries, Conley and King. After that you are looking at late 1st/2nd round guys. I think the grades on what CBs will be available VS what DE's will be available will be closer then people think

I'm VERY high on Moreau though. I wouldn't mind trading down and taking him one bit. We'd have the Florida boys at corner for the next 7 plus years (Brown and Moreau are both from Florida ).

Don't worry about who visits.

If they feel confident that there are no unknowns about a player, then they might choose not to bring that player in even though they have him rated high.

If we are picking him, we are picking him at 60, which isnt terribly far off where we picked Collins last year who also didn't visit

I think King is one of those guys that goes higher then people expect. Maybe much higher. Could see him going ahead of Humphries

May be correct. There are a lot of CBs and DEs in this draft who will likely be BPA at some point in the draft, but not necessarily at #28. We don't need to force a pick to get a good one. See Collins in round three last year.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did. He's the only guy I can see being available that the Cowboys would have rated highly enough to take at 28 though. I think Conley, Lattimore and Humphrey all go before 28. If King goes as well, I don't think they take another CB there so it will be Obi, a DE or a trade down.
