Seems to me the perfect solution to a slow QB that has a good ability to get the ball downfield.

In the games we have been behind late in the game Bledsoe has come out in the shotgun. He has looked impressive in it and JuJo and Barber have had some really good runs. This would give Bledsoe more time to survey the field and get the quick passes out.

I don't get it - Drew is very proficient in shotgun. Especially in 2 minute drill.

Great point.

Did anyone else notice how open Glenn was on the one play where they got to Drew and sacked him before he could get the pass off? If Drew would have been in the shotgun on that one play it would have been a TD because there was no safety and Glenn beat his man at the line and was WIDE open!!!

Underused - Shotgun Overused - Screen Pass
Underused - Draw Play Overused - Run smack into the middle of the line for no gain

:D Funny how we can see that (and opposing teams as well), but BP refuses to change his ways.

I saw that - Glenn ran a quick post and the corner froze - I believe on the play Bledsoe threw it away sideline.

Looked like Glenn made an adjustment that Bledsoe did not read. It was an all out blitz. He was WIDE open for easy TD - He could have just lobbed it to him..

I agree...at least he'd have time to set and throw and for some routes to actually develop...

this is one of the absolutely most puzzling things about the offenive play calling to me...I dont think I've seen any bad snaps from the shotgun this yr, so thats not why it isnt being done, and Bledsoe has used it alot in his career, so thats not why it isnt being used...it seems like an obvious answer on obvious passing downs to this teams extremely poor OL

Shotgun should also help with the defenses keying on our snaps.

Maybe with the shotgun we wouldn't have to see the 2 step rollout to the wideout anymore!

I don't know if you noticed they ran that same play but instead Drew fired a 40 yard bullet to Glenn to the left sidelines......

Bledsoe has ALWAYS done well in the shotgun throughout his career.

I would LOVE to see us coming out in the first quarter on FIRST down in the shotgun formation...

Let's DO IT.... :bang2: :bang2:

I would like to see it on 1st and 2nd down as well. Definitely gets rid of some of the predictablity. I think it seriously helps out the two tackles as well especially if you have Polite and Barber flanking Bledsoe for protection. To me its safer than a 3 or 5 step drop and quick pass.
