Why not AJ McCarron?

I know that Dallas has many needs but I feel AJ McCarron would be a good fit.

Look at the oline now. Dallas has a very young and talented oline that will be solid/good for at least five to eight years.

Also we have Bryant, Murray, Williams and Escobar who are young and will be here too (depending on free agency, injuries, etc).

If Romo leaves in three or four years, McCarron can step in with a good supporting cast that would make this a smooth transition.

Just my thoughts.

His upside is Kyle Orton at best.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday that Alabama QB A.J. McCarron's "fall" to third day of the draft is at least partially due to McCarron rubbing executives "the wrong way" in pre-draft interviews.

Marginal talents fall.

Mayock said the same, would elaborate when Eisen pushed a little.

Noodle arm QB on a running team that has had the best OL talent around the last several years. He also is a bit of a jerk as he turned off teams in interviews. I am am pleased we didn't go there. I hated him watching Fluker, Barret and Warmack last season.

Murray and him are both gone. So much for that.

When you have an inflated opinion of yourself and you come across as an a hole at your job interview the same you don't get drafted.

I like a lot of it is that, but not having an arm, doesnt help. Teebow 2.0.

He has a noodle arm.........................I will be very surprised if he is anything more than a career backup.

From what I've read is that he pretty much PO'd every team with his interviews...not a good way to get your foot in the door...so it cost him $$

Would prefer Mettenberger. Also went to LSU so am slightly biased.

I do think his upside is greater than AJ.

With McCarron's proclamations that he would go anywhere from 16 to 35, I got a bit turned off. I'm sure his agent steered him wrong, but the guy was 4 rounds off.

I would have been ok burning a late pick...but it was not a priority.
What makes people think these these later round QBs are even any better than Weeden...who went in the 1st (but had a 2nd rd grade).
Everyone has pet cats though
