Why not give these guys an offer as OC & DC?
Look I think Garrett has some positives, but no positives running an OFFENSE OR DEFENSE. We absolutely can't get any worse with the schemes we presently run. I love both of their PASSION! Both seem to have figured out their respective sides of the ball. I know I'm dreaming, but damn do we really just sit here and accept

Briles is scheduled to make $4 million next season for Baylor. Would Dallas or any other pro team match that for an OC position? Would he accept less?

What's it going to be then, eh?

Why would either one of them leave to become a coordinator?

They wouldn't. Especially to come here to be with Jason Garrett.

But I do like Dantonio, a lot. Like the way he installs a hard-nosed mentality on his teams.

Dantonio is 57 and has built Michigan State up to a near elite team. It might be too late in his career to make a jump to the Pros. He is set for life at MSU.

Having said that, I think he'd be an excellent NFL DC coordinator.

Agreed. He has the type of approach that could be successful at any level, imo.

As a Spartan follower in Lansing, I honestly don't think Dantonio isn't going anywhere. He just got a big raise last week, he says he considers MSU "a destination and not a stop," and he's not particularly ambitious about bigger jobs. He doesn't even have an agent.

Offer both $7 mil over 7 yrs and let em go to work. Let Red be the trained HC he is and stay the hell out of their way.

Briles is going to get better offers to be a Head Coach either now or next year.

Jerry has been know to pay top dollar to assistant coaches would there is no possibility that he is going to pay 7M each to 2 assistant coaches. That is significant more than he pays Garrett.
